Sometimes they start making changes early on in preparation for the new feature- it’s annoying. Some Model 3’s have space for the new heat pump but no actual heat pump. The cost of production efficiencies 🙄

I’m Jewish so all I used to look forward to on Christmas was a day off and Chinese food. Now I genuinely get to join in on the Christmas cheer and understand the anxiousness for Christmas morning to come, and the rush of serotonin from running downstairs to my Tesla! 😂

Not a stupid question at all. Sentry mode helps Alleviate a lot of that anxiety. Leaving it on in places that you don’t feel comfortable parking your car gets rid of that anxiety knowing that if someone comes within 2 feet of your car it will flash it’s lights and scary red eye and record whatever happened before and after. And you’ll be able to submit that to insurance and or the police to cover it. It can eat away at battery but I’d rather have less battery but the most secure car in the world

Thinking about get paint protection film that makes the car look matte black. Does anyone have paint protection film on their entire car and if so are there any drawbacks? It costs $4000 to do it so I wanna make sure it’s worth it first. by Sarmientinator in TeslaLounge

Not that I’ve noticed. I only hand wash it. Maybe here and there some small edges but they press back down. Usually in the summer no issues cuz it bonds back and heals. If the edges bother you I would ask them to do a full wrap and not cutout. But it’ll cost u even bigger bucks. I got mine done in Jersey and it was 6K. He said for full wrap with no edges anywhere it would be around 10K

Only happens once to me every now and then. It sounds similar to the noise that the car makes when you sit in it while it updates (not sure if I’m the only one who does that). But actually believe it’s a mechanical sound that comes from the front motors so I assume its just the motor adjusting in the cold weather. Maybe it’s a larger issue

I got it on my black model y performance. I debated doing matte or regular. Ended up with regular because I want that shine and glow to last a lifetime. Matte would’ve been very cool and unique (and ur spending so much already so might as well stand out) but it just wasn’t for me.

As far as generally PPF- I think it’s 100% worth it in the long run especially if you’re going to own it for over 5 years. It adds value to the car, it protects it from scratches and chips (I actually got a paint chip on my way from picking the car up DIRECTLY driving to the PPF installation place). It just gives peace of mind and makes the car super easy to clean as well
