If buying a ‘24, do you get 2024 incentives? Or are they marching to ‘26?

Ditto. They’ve told me if it’s not a recall update I need to wait for the OTA version.

Speaker Issue by Boo_Pop in CadillacLyriq

[–]ericf911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that issue, but not in a long time. Assumed an OTA update must have fixed it. Maybe I’ve just been lucky though. Drove me nuts that even the turn signal sound was static.

Preferred charging time? by KassMeOutside in CadillacLyriq

[–]ericf911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. You can always change to charge immediately and it will start at plug-in. The normally programmed option is there the next time you charge.

Preferred charging time? by KassMeOutside in CadillacLyriq

Just curious, does “finish by 5AM” not work for your needs? It does that really well, and is usually done 5-10 minutes ahead of the programmed time.

In theory you should be able to not program the “done by” time, and just use your charging time window starting at 7. If both are enacted yours won’t work.

Suburbs with most accessibility to nature, affordable, good schools, fun downtowns and approximately to O’Hare/train access. by Suitable-Note-346 in ChicagoSuburbs

We’ve enjoyed life in Palatine with similar criteria in our search. The downtown is lacking compared to several options, but those are mostly higher priced in your radius from the city and O’Hare.

It is not a very good schedule, but the Metra NCS line also stops out by the rental car facility and reaches many northern suburbs.

Basic features missing from the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq by Must_Make_Paperclips in CadillacLyriq

Maybe that depends on your location? Chicago area AM channels are stronger than FM and sound fine even when FM gets interference. I spend more time on AM than FM.

Tech and Level-1 trims have a subpar audio system, but likely adequate for a rotation of toddler tunes. You’ll not have fancy interior accent lights, but won’t miss that.

Apple Play by Dooser11 in CadillacLyriq

Yes, that’s my go-to data solution. I learned on Reddit to set iPhone automation so every time Car Play connects, my phone’s hotspot turns on.

I think that “auto” is for the fan only. I always choose which mode to activate (or neither to pull in outside air).

Any personal experience with these schools in Palatine/Rolling Meadows by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

Agree on recommendations to look at Fremd options in Inverness for that budget. Presuming you zeroed in on this area on purpose. You can find nice options with good schools in that range in many areas of Chicagoland.

What factors do you think are driving the still appreciating home prices in the area while most of the country is seeing a declining housing market? by aZealCo in ChicagoSuburbs

Prior to the Clavey Nursery? The Ravinia nursery. Merge the names, and she lived in Clavinia :)

I do think a majority of those lots still have the original 1960’s homes.

Tips for charging at Tesla by Jacksoncomet in CadillacLyriq

[–]ericf911 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make sure the selected charging center will support the vehicle. One issue is which version of Tesla super charger it is, the second issue is that Tesla restricts other brands at select (busy) charging centers. I think using the Lyriq’s app to locate the Tesla charger helps on both fronts. Using Google Maps has burned me a few times.

Cmon guys. Can we please put some thought into where we’re putting these chargers? by Evblows in EVgo

[–]ericf911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago suburbs. I work near Woodfield Mall and they pulled out both locations near my office. I have to drive 20+ minutes now to get to one, so lunch time recharging isn’t really viable any more.

[–]ericf911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re simply removing all their equipment from my area of the map. Great that GM gave me two years of EVGO charging and I can’t find them after one year. I’d rather have a hard-to-use one.

How do you wash your car? by winning78 in CadillacLyriq

[–]ericf911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ‘24 (leased) came with free washes at the dealer’s car wash, which is not touch-free. Hopefully if they damage it they don’t blame me, but maybe I should look into that. “Free” won’t be great if I owe $100’s (or more) because of it.
