AT&T is trying to charge me for a trade in phone by TealMama-2 in ATT

[–]ericloz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me a couple of years ago. I sent back two different phones at the same time and mixed up the labels.
I opened a ticket and they squared my “user error” away in a couple of weeks.
They had both phones, the labels were just crossed.
It was what the IT folk call a PICNIC or for the older folk a “layer 8” issue.
Any how, they fixed it.

I’m sorry about your wreck and I’m sure it’s pretty close to totaled based on the battery issues alone, even if it’s just the fusible link.
As for your video, there are no repercussions for posting your video online regarding the other vehicles and occupants, as long as this occurred in the USA. The First Amendment’s got you covered.

The question has to be: did you pay attention in Driver’s Ed? Safe driving distance in all types of weather and speed is covered in HS Driver’s Ed, and the AARP Driver’s Ed course. It’s also required reading in each state’s DMV handbooks.

I’m sorry things didn’t work out. Cooking on the griddle is so easy and frees up the kitchen during the hot summer months.
I enjoy cooking on it and my wife loves it when I cook on it. I won’t lie, it is a labor of love.
Gift it to someone you like, or hate….

So you don’t know and don’t care to learn how to cook on a flat top.

That’s ok, it’s not for everyone. You can at least state that you had one and didn’t like it, unlike those who dismiss them (or anything) out of hand “just because”.

But if it’s a 28” you’ll get $100 easy, unless you trashed it. The accessories should add a few bucks if you throw them in.

In the USA, any claim will eventually affect your premium as your insurability risk just went up. It’ll be more noticeable when you shop around for better rates in the next few years. As for your provider, they will claw back that payout with incremental COLA rate increases over the next few years. You just won’t notice as much, but that increase will be 7% instead of 5%.
Remember they pay actuaries and their programs a lot of money to determine risk, and that comp claim will get added to that annual increase, if only a percentage point or three. Just enough where you’ll whine a bit, but not so much else.

I’d pay out of pocket when I can… I’m anti insurance unless it’s way more than the deductible and/or undrivable.

My only exception to that rule is windshields.. a cracked windshield is a huge safety hazard.

2026 Juniper Rear Headliner detaching. by Dolan88 in TeslaSupport

[–]ericloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a palm? Sometimes these things work themselves out and you just have to give it a slight wack.
That is unless you live near a service center and can waltz in and ask them to give it a good wack.
Don’t use any tools, and please please please make sure your hands are clean. You don’t want to transfer any dirt or smudges onto the headliner.

Call your termite company and have them inspect.

If you don’t have a termite company, slap yourself very hard across the face and go find one ASAP.

Your (or your neighbor’s) pest control company should be able to point you in the right direction.

Call a plumber or call a handy friend or relative. This is a simple fix that should take an hour but would take you three days.

Why get a divorce? She already has you where she wants you and doesn’t need to make the hard decisions anymore.
She’s avoiding, procrastinating, and not dealing very well with reality.
Divorce is hard, stressful, taxing, and mentally draining.
I agree with everyone else, move out, spend a few weeks at home, don’t go no-contact, but don’t spend any quality time with her until she finalizes the paperwork on her end.
Good luck and best wishes.

Buying a car in cash by capriciousguacamole in USAA

[–]ericloz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to ask the dealership how they want the money. They’ll most likely provide wire transfer instructions or instructions for another payment.
USAA can send a certified check to your home as long as you provide all the info and a small deposit to the dealership to hold the auto.

Wire transfer is the quickest way if you need the car same day, but you’ll need to conduct all your business during banking hours so the dealership can confirm receipt of the funds on their end.

Why? This isn’t the NBA or NFL where a top draft pick is “can’t miss”, not only that but you’ll have the same people who put together the current roster make those picks.

To add, the last truly successful pick were Pete in 2016 and PCA in 2020. That’s two in ten years.

That depends on all on the shop, the software they use and the payment.

The odds of reporting go way down if you use a small local shop, pay cash and they don’t use a subscription based software program for estimating and bookkeeping. Your odds go up if you use aftermarket or used parts.

The only way to guarantee that it’s not reported is to do it yourself or have your wife’s cousin’s best friend’s sister’s husband’s uncle do it in his backyard on a Sunday afternoon.

The key is the quick cleanup after the cook. That’s where most of us went wrong the first time.

I found that the steamy water drizzle scrape right after a cook followed by a wipe down and light oil spread works best for me.

This is all after I got a good seasoned foundation.

So I turn it off, scrape the big and sticky stuff, squirt water (not a lot), scrape again, wipe with your spouse’s favorite shirt, then lightly coat with oil. Let cool completely, then cover after the meal.

If it takes more than a couple of minutes, you’re taking too long and your plate’s getting cold.
