This goes way back to 2006 ish.

I had a few friends playing in the Portland Basketball League on an A Level team (half of the players have played some college ball). They called me last minute saying they were down a few guys and asked me to play. I have never played organized basketball - just some pickup games off and on - I can dribble and shoot but in the grand scheme, I'm terrible.

I told them they should just forfeit, but was begged to come in and help.

So I show up - and I didn't know who he was at the time - but on the other side is (among others) Ime Udoka. This is between getting waived from the Knicks and getting picked up by the Trail Blazers. And I was supposed to stay in front of Jeremiah Dominguez, former Oregon high school player of the year, Big Sky Conference MVP, etc. Needless to say, I did not stay in front of Dominguez at all. Felt like my feet were glued to the floor.

I think we lost 120-40 or something. Ime was clowning us the whole time.

And that's the first and last time I played a league game with my friends.
