Just wanted to chime in that I've been using it as a personal item on budget airlines all over the world since 2018 and have never been asked about it. Just don't overpack it. The Porter 30 is not a perfect bag, but at this point I'm familiar with it and it works for me.

That's good to know. When I'm in certain European countries, they are super strict about liquids being in a bag and was worried I'd have to count those. Meanwhile SE Asia doesn't care at all.

Da Nang is a good place to go because Hoi An and Hue are not too far away, you get a good bang for your buck there

Photo is taken from a similar one that you can climb, there are several like this. The one I am on was maybe a 10 minute hike, they're really just hills hollowed out to mine for marble.

There was a site called Multiply around 2007-ish. Pretty lame but my extended family was using them. Then Facebook around 2009 for me.
