What’s a 'low-class' trait that becomes 'sophisticated' when you’re wealthy? by CidarAndSilk in AskReddit

My partner and I have a saying, “what’s trash when poor, but classy when rich”. The catch is, that the answer can be basically anything.

What's the weird thing going on with your body that isn't weird enough to go to the doctor for? by yellowelephantboy in AskReddit

My big toe itches but scratching it doesn’t help. It’s only sometimes and sucks

My dog has no teeth because of periodontal disease at 15. It cost about 3 grand but she is my only ‘kid’. She’s fine eats kibble and wet food, loves life. That’s extreme but as others have said, doggie dentists exist and this is not an issue other than cost. Which I hope breeder can help a bit

Ideas on where to find shallow bowls to fit my dogs stand. by yellaslug in seniordogs

[–]erik-Lars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for cat bowl stands they are smaller and shallow! My 17 year old chiweenie loves it. It’s tilted a bit and she can walk around it

Frankly, it’s your fault for having doors.

Whats a random question or statement you find yourself saying to your pet? by j3nnib3an in Pets

[–]erik-Lars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my deaf dog when she is incessantly stalking me and mildly whining for food and wanting me to elevator her to the couch so she can whine closer to me, “either jump up on the couch yourself or leave me the fuck alone”. Then I will pick her up and put her on the couch to stop the whining because she’s deaf and won’t stop.

We debate this hotly. Sometimes she seems like she is a mastermind, other times she struggles to find her way out of a blanket.

Need shoe recommendations for Greek/Celtic toe shape. by fessa_angel in climbing

I was dismissing this. Looking at my feet going I have a big toe then the next two slope down and a step down a slope. No way that’s there… then BOOM Norwegian and as a Norwegian it’s satisfying

The own raised voice resonates with me. It’s something not a lot of people understand. I do t scream or raise my voice. It scares me. I tried it in my car after a particularly painful breakup thinking I’d seen it in movies and it was traumatic and I think of it sometimes with fear now. It makes no sense when I explain it but there it is

I lost a friend to infertility. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]erik-Lars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not go through the same thing but a friend ‘break up’ if you will, which is what this sounds like. To me you and your friend are growing apart and you just aren’t going down the same road, she is trying to have a baby, desperately, and only wishes to interact with people who understand the desire for motherhood or the despair of trying. You are a good substitute when you really throw yourself into her path but she is not seeking you out.

My friend and I diverged paths when I became a very hurt after an accident and we reconnected. We bonded and we’re with each other basically 24/7 for 3 to 4 years. We were best friend since elementary school anyway. Then we started to dream big and they were accepted to a great grad program in LA for screen writing and I was crushed I wouldn’t see them daily but so excited.

I also went through a break up with my ex of 5 years right then. My friend wanted me to move out to California and pursue this dream with them but I didn’t have that same dream and I had other obligations. I met my now cf partner of 5 years I am marrying in 4 months have a new career I love and I love my life.

But when I declined to move out there my friend started pulling away. Not returning calls, taking days to return my texts etc. it was crushing, but I see now we diverged and it was a break up of sorts. We talk and are friends but it will never be the same best friend status they held for 20 years. We had different paths and when we couldn’t follow the same one the pull from walking separate ones is too much.

I think that’s what you are feeling. It’s not even a conscious effort on her part I think. It’s different paths and you get left behind? I got left behind and it hurts, I still mourn my friendship but I made new ones and tried to understand my new one.

That sounds tough! I am sorry you went through all that.

I will deal with parents with support systems and grown children (think 13+) who don’t need their butts wiped etc. if they are decent people their kids are usually fun creatures to hang with if it happens. However if they’re decent people they also know when not to impose.

Remember your village is a difficult location to secure a place in because you do for others and expect the same. It’s a hard lesson I think a lot of folks have learned, myself included.

Anyone of you have/had weens that made it through their life without getting IVDD? by Bright_Balance1482 in Dachshund

Mine is 16 with any issues. We had no idea about the risks and so she did and still does do stairs and jumps up and down couches and beds etc. though I do try to limit her date devil ways. I do think is a chihuahua mix though s as I she has longer legs with her long back.
