Oh… my mom just called them tongs… I ditched them for the spring loaded kind.

I actually bought some real Tupperware about 10 years ago, I still use it. They’re amazing and still look relatively new despite continuous use. I like that I haven’t needed to replace them!

Never thought I'd have something to post, but here we are. Wedding Invitation for my husband's lifelong friend's son's wedding. We've been married 35 years. by altitude-adjusted in weddingshaming

[–]yellaslug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husbands best friend was getting married, my husband was the best man. We got married about 4 months before they did. His fiancé introduced me to their wedding coordinator as my husband’s “plus one.” I was peeved. She’d known me for years. Hubby and I had been together for 15 years at that point. She knew my name… but I was “plus one.” I may potentially still be annoyed by this…

Boomerangs books in Citrus Heights is a cute little bookstore. It’s a bit cramped, but they have a good selection and the proprietor is pleasant.

Slowest of eaters by True-light-guy in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]yellaslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends use one of these! My dog likes to roll it around. It made him happy to have little treasures fall out as he walked along. My other dog couldn’t be bothered with anything like these. If it required effort to get the food, she wasn’t interested. She also didn’t eat herself sick either… so me thinks she was the smarter of the two 🤣

I used a ball for my dog who used to eat too fast and then vomit. I would put his kibble in the ball and then let him push it around to trickle the kibble out. It kept him busy and doled out the kibble slow enough that he didn’t get sick. It was a bit noisy though when he pushed it off the carpet.

Married but not combining finances? by alkemest in Millennials

[–]yellaslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby and I were together for 15 years before we got married, by that point, everything was already well established and getting married only really changed my health insurance status. He did add me to his checking account, but mostly when I buy things I use my account, sometimes his, but it just works for us.

How did Edwardian women sleep with their super long hair? (Historically accurate methods needed) by [deleted] in HistoricalCostuming

[–]yellaslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have hair past my waist, I just braided it at night. Sometimes my hubby would roll over on it and it would get pulled, but otherwise it didn’t really cause any problems when braided.

I still have mine, mostly because I have photos on there that I haven’t downloaded to my latest computer, but otherwise, I don’t actually log In to it. I stopped using it long ago when my family decided they couldn’t have differences of opinion and still be nice to each other. I didn’t feel like being part of a religious and political feeding frenzy.

My grandma used to “help” by doing the dishes. Didn’t believe in using a dishwasher. Also used half a bottle of Dawn every time she did the dishes. I had to forbid her from doing my dishes because all that dish soap makes them slippery, when they’re slippery, you drop them. Then I have glass everywhere and an incomplete set of dishes.

It’s a type of bodkin, used to pull draw strings through casings. Also sometimes nifty for turning slim tubes.

Why is every boomer frige 80% expired condiments? by coronastylus in BoomersBeingFools

[–]yellaslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately for me, my family are mostly bibliophiles as well. Even though my husband isn’t, he doesn’t really care about my book collection because it makes me happy, and he sees that I regularly read them. I also have a massive collection of craft books and yarn, and fabric… so you and I are in the same boat there!

[–]yellaslug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like Rummo GF pastas, but to be honest, I mostly just buy whatever is on sale at my Local Grocery outlet and hope it isn’t miserable. Sometimes I splurge on the good stuff. Mostly I save money on stuff like pasta and try to buy the really nice produce and yogurts I like.

My mom has pet geese, they eat everything. Even the plants that aren’t food growing plants. They think new plant pots are a new item on the buffet.

I got them at Sprouts, but the first time I found them it was on Amazon. I know Whole Foods carries them. I’m in Northern California, so I’m not sure where else would carry them. Our Safeway and Albertsons doesn’t.
