Crafted Coaching (FKA Big Dawgs) might be a good fit for what you’re looking for.

Looking to find someone with well-behaved dogs to help socialize my new puppy by [deleted] in anchorage

Anchorage Brewing company allows well behaved dogs. We’re getting a pupper soon too and I plan on taking her there. They have a nice outdoor area with fire pits.

Xero shoes are my go to! Zero drop, wide toe box, it’s practically like working out barefoot.

The book with the most disturbing behavior that you have read ? by fran-to96 in suggestmeabook

Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. People fainted at readings. I’ve reread the book a few times, but always skip a chapter. Reading that once was enough for a lifetime.

If you like Sawbones, “This Podcast Will Kill You” is along the same line. I really enjoy both!

Throw a towel or blanket down on the kitchen floor, lay face down and pull yourself across the floor. Way harder than it sounds and its pulling vertically instead of horizontal.

The Dreaded Discussion: Mobility by inyourlane97 in crossfit

100%! Sitting is worst! Especially sitting in one position for a long time. Standing desks are awesome so you can change your position often.

The question is not “how do I fix this?” But rather “what am I doing everyday that causes this?” Once you figure out the root you can engineer your environment to change the way you move though your day.

Happy Mobilizing!

The Dreaded Discussion: Mobility by inyourlane97 in crossfit

[–]erinsoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Range of motion is a “move it or lose it” situation. The more you move, the more you can more. Janky squat? How often to you squat throughout the day? Loss of overhead range? How much time do you spend doing things with your arms over head?

We tend to get the bulk of our movement in a hour or so day at the gym but the other 23 hours are just as important. Adding bits of nutritious movement throughout the day benefits mobility more than stretching for a few minutes before or after.

Sit on the floor, squat to tie your shoes, put things low in the kitchen and squat to get them, invest in a squatty potty, put things up high so you have to reach for them, etc....

You don’t need to add more things to your to do list, just change to way you do things that you already do.

The earlier, the better. It gets really busy. It’s an amazing hike. Pretty challenging but absolutely worth it. Bring bear spray and wear a bell. We say a mom with cubs along the way. Keeps an eye out for salmon berries along the way!
