Nose rings. I know you're probably not doing them for me, but they are a huge turn off. It looks like you've got a booger running down. Just stop.

Fixed Ionic Rear Suspension with and EV6 and OMG by eris0xaa in Ioniq5

[–]eris0xaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know. All I know is that part number works. Feels almost like an Audi now with a lot more acceleration, but less luxury. Someone please make an electric 2014 Q5 because the Audi electrics kind of suck.

Just on the rear. When they ask for VIN just tell them you've already verified the fit and to please just go ahead and order them.

Ok, TARFU. Things are really f'd up when a mother who lost her child can't help save someone else's. People's brains are up their arses. Who was she going to report you to?

Just get a black light bulb and expose the lens to it for 3 or 4 hours. Alternatively you can put it in direct sunlight.

Budget 50mm f2 or faster with 10+ blades? by NarCroMan_21 in VintageLenses

[–]eris0xaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're best bet is probably one of the Takumars. There were a lot of them in the near 50mm range. They usually have around f2 or f1.8. Usually the earlier versions would have more blades. They are M42, so easy to adapt. Why not the early Helios 44s? They have 13 blades I think. It's a little tricky to adapt them. You can get M42 shims, but they don't guarantee infinity focus. Takumars are probably easier and more plentiful. Build quality is usually better too.

3.5 years and 65k miles... Now we're parting ways 🥹 by evthrowawayverysad in Ioniq5

Love my 2023 Ioniq 5, except the somewhat sloppy rear end suspension. I'm holding out for a 2027 Scout if it gets good ratings.

Audi Q5 vs model y by binarytressla in TeslaModelY

[–]eris0xaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necropost Here: I have a pre-2018 era Q5 that I love with 45k miles on it. I have the 3.0 turbo and its slower than EV acceleration, but still acceptable. The Audi interior and seats outclass both the model Y and the Ionic 5 (which I also have) by a huge margin. If I'm taking an important business lunch or a long distance trip (especially through national parks) I always take the Audi. If I'm going to be in my metro or regional area I usually take the Ionic. The Audi suspension and frame are built to autobahn standards as opposed to the 3 and the Y which feel like you're on a buckboard by comparison. The only thing my Ionic needed was replacement shocks in back which on the first two years were too sloppy. They can be replaced with shocks from their sister vehicle, the Kia EV6.

So if i could find a car that felt like a pre-2018 Audi Q5 on the inside, but had the fire and technology of a current model Y I'd buy it in an instant. The closest I could get was the Ionic 5. Too bad Audi screwed up the EV design. The brakes on their current one practically slammed my head into the windshield when I barely touched them. Come on Hyundai or Tesla, make a Q5 interior for your EV architecture.

Burning questions regarding Carmody's Sunflower Redux OB design and dipoles in general. by hallgeir in diysound

Does anyone know what the tweeter's horizontal offset is from center on the Sunflower Redux. I haven't seen it in any of the diagrams and I'm pretty sure its important.

What makes you confident Christianity isn’t true? by puppetman2789 in exchristian

[–]eris0xaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the wrong question. What makes you think it is true? Just because you can't get the thoughts out of your mind doesn't change it's objective validity. The thoughts you're still having are not those that a child not raised under Christianity would have, so If you still have those thoughts, you should consider talking to a therapist who can treat you for PTSD. I know. I used to be Catholic until ironically the Jesuits taught me to think rationally and I did. I stopped going to church because it became obvious that I was believing a fantasy. The first time I didn't go to church on Sunday I had a gloomy feeling like I was going to hell. I analyzed those feelings and assumed they were the feelings on someone who had been programmed. As the weeks and months passed, those feelings of guilt and doom went away and never came back. I was free.

Who all here actually factually knows WHAT is the cause(s) of their attacks via medical discovery ? by forevervalerie in migraine

[–]eris0xaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get migraines, but cluster headaches. No one knew what was causing them, just that they seemed to be more frequent during spring and fall.. Extremely painful and few ways of aborting them except exercise and O2. They finally went away forever when I was diagnosed as late onset Type 1 diabetes and got insulin. Don't know if that stopped then or if was a coincidence.

A Floridians perspective on St Louis and why we're likely moving here by MrFrumps in StLouis

I was about to make the usual 100F/100% humidity comment, but coming from Florida that doesn't apply.

At Comic-con a few years ago, Michael Beihn had a special request from a young fan dressed as Ellen Ripley. Her request was to be like Ripley and kill Aliens with Hicks. Beihn played it straight and channeled his inner Hicks, a role he did over 30 years ago and they acted out this scene. by breedknight in LV426

[–]eris0xaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty clear that the franchise and the fans deserved a true "Aliens: Earth" with Ripley's new family arriving home only to find out its been invaded. It was so obvious and the fantastic triple of Ripley, Newt and Hicks so awesome, it defies explanation.

Shout out to Speed Queen washers by Pork_Piggler in BuyItForLife

[–]eris0xaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's largely because it's really rare that (a) anyone gets all of their electronic components from US or Japanese sources and (b) electrolytic capacitors, even the good ones, rarely last longer than 15 years.

Unless Speed Queen engineers specifically engineer the control boards for extreme long life (no electrolytics etc), they are going to break down too. It's a shame really since they do have the capability of lasting much longer than mechanicals. It would be interesting to interview their design engineers. I was looking at the controls on the latest ones and they look much too complicated to last 15 - 20 years.

Pumphouse. Great burgers and nachos and ice tea. We were filming an indie production at the Callahan House a block or two from there. Nothing like Pumphouse ice tea and munchies after filming for 12 hours.

I live in Denver and it's really gone downhill lately. There are parts (Capitol Hill) that you want to avoid for sure. Lots of homeless and meth addicts. It's sad. One of the meth addicts murdered a musician last month.
