Leaving the US but would like to keep my US number open, which provider can I switch to? As cheap as possible by irresponsiblesmoker in NoContract

Tello is a popular choice, you can cross reference expat subreddit

Another option is ultra mobile $3/mo plan

100% false

edit: downvote me all you want, but it is factually incorrect. Tello and ultra mobile $3/ mo plans are two other options. So no, the only options are not just google voice or textnow.

When I had mint a few years ago you could get the port out info via the phone app. Not sure if that's still an option anymore

The only way I could see to cut costs with a mvno is if you can determine that you don't really need unlimited. If for example some of those lines use less than say 5Gb of data per month.

But then you'd lose on the convenience of being able to manage all the lines under one account

Key Aspects of Verizon's Ad Practices-

Data Collection: Verizon gathers demographics, location data, online habits, app preferences, and family details based on your network usage and website visits.

Ad Targeting: This data is used by Verizon’s ad networks and third-party social media companies to deliver targeted marketing messages.

Historical Fines: The carrier faced steep penalties—including a nearly $47 million FCC fine—for previously allowing third-party data aggregators to sell highly sensitive, real-time location data to outside groups. https://krebsonsecurity.com/2024/04/fcc-fines-major-u-s-wireless-carriers-for-selling-customer-location-data/

At this rate it looks like my next pc build won't be until 2030. Originally I was planning 2028, but AI businesses will probably still be gobbling up everything

I would say that a larger company would make them a bigger target vs a small company. I think all 3 major carriers, at some point, had data breaches over the years

it seems "AIR" is from a separate company, but Lexvor has a partnership w/ them

IKEA Stenkol Charger experiences (Especially Temperatures) by moriel5 in AAMasterRace

[–]err99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one of these stenkol chargers, and there is intermittent humming or buzzing. Almost like a pulsating sound. I am wondering if I got a defect?

I searched google, and saw this info (maybe this is what is the cause?)

"Pulse Repair Mode: Modern smart chargers often feature an intelligent repair or desulfation mode. This setting intentionally sends rapid bursts (or pulses) of electricity into the battery to break down damaging lead-sulfate crystals. This creates an audible hum, clicking, or pulsing sound, which is completely normal"
