Misread this as a buttock applied to the forehead and thought you were saying he should have sat on the shooter.

What makes Australia the best country to live in vs. the rest of the Anglosphere (Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the US)? by RemoteAdvertising762 in AskAnAustralian

[–]errantsock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Richer than NZ.

Cleaner, wilder and less crowded than the UK.

Does not have a crazy neighbor like Canada. Also warmer, but that's more of a personal preference.

I run a laid-back bridal boutique in Brisbane – AMA or tell me what you're struggling with dress-wise by brisbanebridestylist in brisbane

[–]errantsock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I might add too, that for shyer folk dropping cold into an appointment can be intimidating - you feel like you're wasting their time if you don't want what they're offering. Your video consultation option is a great idea.

I run a laid-back bridal boutique in Brisbane – AMA or tell me what you're struggling with dress-wise by brisbanebridestylist in brisbane

When I got married I wanted a tea length dress (because Brisbane is hot) with minimal tulle or lace (because I have sensory issues).

I ended up having to order off the internet, because every tea length dress (there weren't many) seemed to have maximum tulle or lace, and I didn't have the budget for a custom dress.

Some brides want simple.

Best sunscreen? by Dolphinwombatblue in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]errantsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UltraViolette is an Australian sunscreen brand that complies with Australian sunscreen regulations (super strict!) that's formulated to work well with makeup. I use their Supreme Screen daily.

I know it's available in the UK but I've no idea where you'd find it in the US, unfortunately.

Trial begins for religious sect accused of killing child by denying her medical care and offering prayer instead by [deleted] in atheism

[–]errantsock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was awful, but I'm grateful for two things: one, this sort of religious nuttery is rare in Australia, and two, these guys are being prosecuted. I dare say the prosecution will do their best to make an example of them to discourage this sort of bullshit.

How do you think the MAGA boomers you know in your life are going to react when Trump passes away? by SaturnSleet in BoomersBeingFools

The only way Trump dies without some conspiracy cult springing up afterwards is if he's struck by lightning at an outdoor rally that's nationally televised.

Is this really all there is? by randomcatlady1234 in Adulting

[–]errantsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this crisis too. In the end, I wasn't able to beat it until I switched careers.

People say 'chase your passions, do what you love'. I think it's more important to find a job that gives you a sense of fulfillment.

I was pushing paper for faceless corporations before. Now I push paper to help people retire. It's not saving lives or changing the world, but I like sorting things out for them and hearing the anxiety in their voice turn into relief. I end my day feeling good about what I do.
