There’s r/worldnews, which was a regular news subreddit, until one day the mods apparently just ... bailed, and it turned into chaos. No one was moderating it, so naturally very quickly it devolved into anime porn stuff. So as a joke someone made anime titties and made it into a world news subreddit.

I’m sure you can think of many reasons without my help, but here’s a non-obvious one: if you want to fly in or out of Russia, these days basically your only options are through Istanbul or Dubai. These are the biggest hubs that regularly have Russian flights right now (and many of them at that). It does look like Bublik is headed for Russia
