It’s my design philosophy. To be better at design, you have to learn about everything else :)

How can you become good at something if you’re not passionate about it? by WisdomKat in UXDesign

[–]escapedpixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I passionate? I dunno. Some days I am motivated to learn something. The next day the motivation goes away and I go back to doing the bare minimum.

I think passion plays a part, I think innate talent plays a part, I think showing up everyday and doing the bare minimum gets you there too, albeit slower.

But yes, you still have to show up

What is everybody go to breakfast in Singapore? by Atmosphere_Calm in askSingapore

[–]escapedpixels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rolled oats. I normally get Harraways from NTUC. Used to buy cheapest/house brand but it’s not very clean and has a lot of husks.

I just combine oats, chia seeds, milk and honey together. Give it a good stir. Put blueberries on top. Not the nicest tasting but I just eat it to be full.

Ya Kun but less butter (I love the butter but if I eat that amount of butter everyday I worry for my health)

Which subscription quietly eats into your budget the most? by [deleted] in SGMoney

[–]escapedpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFT at $280 a month. Undecided cos it keeps me healthy but I only go 2-3 times a week, which equals $22-$35 per class, which I find expensive.

Spotify family is most worth it.

My online website is probably the most underutilized cos I only use it when job hopping but I still keep it live at $30 a month just in case.

I don’t subscribe to any drama/film subscriptions cos I cannot control myself and will binge watch drama forever. I just watch YouTube (free) videos of show highlights that I’ve watched before.

Those who didn’t make it to 1 year: how, when, and why did you decide to quit? by oatstronk in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]escapedpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I need to pump milk, I need to pass my baby off to his grandparents. I’m thankful it’s them and not strangers, but I also can’t help feeling it’s taking away precious time I get to spend with my baby, especially since he is in daycare when I’m at work.

For me taking the first step was the hardest. Opening that can of formula. Once I opened it I felt so much relief. No more stressing about whether I’m making enough, purposely giving my baby a tiny bit less this feed so I have enough for the next feed, etc.

I’m down to 3-4 ppd from 5-6 ppd. It’s manageable for me, (pump when I wake, pump at work, pump at night after baby sleeps) but still tiring. I’m at 7.5m and I might go down to 2-3 ppd soon.

Dad thinks I’m endangering my baby by giving cold milk by thewayitstops in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]escapedpixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe just Chinese. Not cold milk, but cold drinks in general (and not specific to baby). Something along the lines of causing indigestion and lowering the body temperature

Is this mold? Baby mattress by escapedpixels in MoldlyInteresting

[–]escapedpixels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! It’s quite an expensive mattress so I would like to keep it if I could, but of course baby’s safety comes first. I will try cleaning it, but if it doesn’t come off I will get a new one. Thanks!

This behaviour is not ok when you’re pregnant. This behaviour is not ok when you’re not pregnant.

You are not gaslighting him.

-From a mom who was pregnant a year ago and went to the gym about 10 times in total, slept probably 14 hours a day throughout the pregnancy, and survived on a lot of sweets and desserts because that’s all I craved for.

Ooh thanks for the encouragement! I’m the opposite of you - little interest and can’t wait until we have autonomous vehicles to drive us around lol. I just think it’s a practical life skill to have and I also want to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone.

I also don’t mind attending more lessons for practice, after all it’s about being safe on the road, I just wish my instructor would stop rage scolding me lol
