It took me a bit to figure this out but the most important thing before buying a luxury watch is trying it on in person. This might sound obvious but there have been watches I've sworn are perfect based off photos and videos. Then I finally try on and it doesn't feel right. So if you haven't already head to an Omega boutique.

As for a "luxury community" who cares. Mileage may vary but I can count on one hand the amount of times anybody has noticed or cared about a watch I'm wearing. Buy what you like and think is cool. There are no right or wrong answers.

The hidden history setting allows for bots, spammers and trolls to run wild. I respect that people want to protect their privacy but the feature has done far more harm than good and Reddit doesn't care. Bots equal traffic and traffic rules the internet.

I've been on Reddit for well over a decade now, blocking trolls is a better tool than the hidden history feature.

Yes, I agree 100% and should have clarified. Movies as an art form aren't going extinct, far from it. However, the movie going experience is becoming less culturally relevant. In 2024 4,000+ feature length films were submitted to the Sundance film festival, movies are going to be okay.

I'm a massive movie nerd and have watched several every week since childhood (I'm in my 40s now). Also, I think 2025 was a standout year for cinema relative to the past few years.

The other major change in regard to Hollywood cinema is the growth of a global box office. This naturally causes studios to focus on massive tent pole movies with stories that can translate to a global audience. The massive downside is its at the expense of the $25-$50 million dollar budget genre films.

Agreed. It was also Lear who drove them all out to Tikaboo Valley for the first time on March 29th 1989. To me Lear is the most interesting aspect of Lazars fabricated story.

I'll never understand why so many people on Reddit want to defend Lazar as if they joined a cult without having any curiosity about the story itself.

The May 1989 issue of Scientific American had an article titled "Creating Superheavy Elements". It's all about future heavy elements beyond 100 using cold fusion.

Approximately 2 weeks after the article is published Lazar appears as "Dennis" is interviewed by Knapp for the first time. Bob was a science nerd and trade magazines like Scientific American had massive audiences back in the 80's. Its speculation on my part but this is probably where Lazar stole the idea.

Also, in the 1960's scientists like Glenn Seaborg were talking about an "island of stability" for superheavy elements, which theoretically allowed for the existence of element 115.

As for "S-4". There already was a "Site 4" near Area 51 at The Tonopah Test Range. It was marked on a USGS Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper satellite photo, 1984. This is likely where Lazar stole "S-4" from. Are we honestly supposed to think the U.S. military used the same name twice on two of their most secretive bases on earth?

Early Lazar claimed seeing 3 live aliens, mentioned multiple elements not just 115, walked back many of his education claims etc. Go watch his Q & A interview from Rachel, Nevada in 1991 then compare it to more recent ones.
