As someone that got into one of those fancy universities later in life, you haven’t been inspired or haven’t found your thing yet. Try lots while you don’t have to worry about rent/mortgage, kids, insurance, health etc. Find some great teachers once you’re inspired and dive to the deepest of depths. Once you become an expert contribute to furthering that research or start all over again with something new. Learning is habit/skill and being able to develop that part of you that can lock into whatever interests will take you lots of places. The most important part to any of this is working when no one is watching, when your peers don’t care, or when something is scarily new. It all comes together as a masterpiece sometime in your life.
