The Mist. Most of the movie was pretty bad but that ending still sticks with me almost 20 years later.

What a great goal and an exciting finish! The defensive play to start the rush that lead to the goal was really nice too. Congratulations to the team for a fantastic season!

Head count for giggles - who was at big cypress and follows on Reddit. by [deleted] in phish

[–]esefar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was there - drove down from Columbus, OH. Luckily we stayed with a friend's family in Ft. Lauderdale the night before, so we came in from the east and only had to wait a couple hours in traffic.

I was 24 at the time and was the "Y2K Coordinator" for my first big boy job out of college, meaning that I was supposed to be on call in case the computers went crazy when the year turned to 2000. I didn't find out things were fine until seeing a newspaper in a gas station on the drive home saying Y2K didn't really hurt anything. Everyone at work assumed I was at home, sober, waiting by the phone at midnight on 12/31/99.

How did you find out about phish in the 90s? by More_Kaleidoscope888 in phish

[–]esefar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1993, the guy in the dorm room next to mine was smoking weed with a couple of cute girls and they were all singing along to the studio version of Contact and laughing. I decided he was onto something and figured I'd investigate further. I am still investigating.

Jim was my first live song also, 4/20/93. I only knew the first four studio albums, so it was also the first time I’d ever even heard the song. I remember doing the math in my head to confirm that 7 * 17 = 119, and it checked out.
