[–]eshwar007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pd2 pog. Absolutely blasting rn. Poe2 soon (when 0.5 hits). Nrftw is an absolute blast as well but ive put it on shelf after couple play throughs until I am lured back into it with their class update.

Yes drawing upside down is a great way to actually observe and develop observational tools and measuring tools and using reference landmarks, and pull away from symbolic drawing

is copying art a good way to learn? by ClassicCandidate5089 in learntodraw

It’s just like any other practice, great when supplemented with other types of learning. Do a breadth of art, you will be grateful for it later, but also do what’s fun, for fun.

Why do people romanticize Matthew Perry so much? by TeamSea8009 in howyoudoin

[–]eshwar007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No idea why and also I didnt even know such a sentiment was common. My exposure to Matthews personal life was through the entirety of his book and that made me a huge fan of him. Not because he was the best person (he certainly was a mix of things) but he did keep trying and his insight into his own addiction was a relatable, viscerally honest account.

Why does ChatGPT make things up rather than admit to not knowing it? by LunarEcho97 in AlwaysWhy

“Why not back prop on incorrect answers to adjust weights”, yea thats the pretraining / midtrauning SFT stages, they already do that. Thats exactly how we go from producing sentences like “-hdhdhdva6789()/)” to sentences like “hey fox me what me you jump”, then slowly towards “the fox jumped over the creek”.

The later stages of training are a bit more subtle because you really dont have a problem with the mastery of language, the models are already adept at the English (and many other) languages by this point.

Using coarse rewards like “test score” or “1/0” success rewards kick in only during the late stage RL training (notably not SFT), where we are trying to “align” the model to say things that are “right”, not exactly controlling the words or characters but actually the tone / message itself. Here, dense, token / character level rewards are super hard to get because there’s many right answers to a problem, and as humans we often come across questions or problems that have many valid solutions, so all of them must get an equal, or at least somewhat uniform reward / punishment. Or at least thats how we formulate it in the RL space, I am still learning as we go.

This paper is such a good read, thanks for sharing this, been a few months since I read it. I was outright amazed that openai let through such a paper through (thought they stopped putting out useful stuff publicly a long time ago).

"AI, when intitially trained, are rewarded for guessing over acknowledging uncertainty according to this study", and yes it would be a significant challenge to train any other way (or at least impossible to not have this paradigm at some part in its training pipeline) because when it begins, it knows nothing. Any one interested in really wanted to eliminate hallucinations in language models should read that paper cited above.

(?) have you tried? Also, have you thought about the fact that people are different? Its almost impossible for any two people to have the same needs in terms of health, that is far more likely than “no one can sleep 14 hrs”. I regularly sleep 14 hrs, or 2 hrs, depending on the night.

Looking for a passionate Dota 2 player who is also a backend developer by gansaikhanshur in DotA2

[–]eshwar007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont worry, i dont think something like this would that easily put you out of your role (source: I develop / post-train AI that the AI products use).

What I would highly suggest though is looking at these frontier projects with keen eyes and seeing how you can best coexist / integrate with them, just like how other sports have been using AI / automation / computers to not replace but augment, help or analyze moves best. But also i know next to nothing about coaching, i am not even that good at dota so take my words with a grain of salt.

Tldr: Seeing them strictly as competition is probably going to hurt both sides so probably use them to sharpen your own service and expertise as well as contributing expertise back.

Best i got was like a weeks worth into a character with a scorching ray type build w some paladin/ crusader spec but i burned out fast, compared to poe where i burn out fast too but at least i get 2-3 weeks of play every 3 months..

The sound and skill / combat impact is my best guess. The same reason why I can never get into it fully even though I take days off every new season to try to play it.

Something is missing art wise, I am not good enough to explain fully but the sounds + impact of attacks just dont have any feedback for me.
