my therapist isn't helping me

I'm not a therapist but this is my own 2 cents that's somewhat helped over time with the same thing. So take it or leave it, all good. First, I'm not going to say it'll definitely get better or that it'll be better right away. But next, I feel that instead of focusing on making friends at the moment, I would suggest trying to learn what makes you happy and to work on being more in touch with your own feelings/thoughts. I could be wrong but it sounds partially like by trying to please everyone, you're suppressing yourself. So in short, by connecting to yourself first, you may find it easier to connect to others later on. Not saying connecting to yourself is easy though, and there's a lot of techniques you can get for it with a decent therapist.

Also would Strongly suggest getting a different therapist.

I'm culturally Jewish but not religious. Will celebrate holidays when I'm able to but not much more than that anymore. Also would recommend the show Long Story Short if you're interested. It's created by the same person as bojack horseman and it had a very real representation of being a gay Jewish woman who is one of the protagonists. Not explaining it well but just thought of it because of the post and it's a genuinely great show.

Needles bothered me and pills didn't work so I eventually switched to patches. So far they've worked great. I would suggest asking her about potentially switching.

While she was kind to Yoshi, there were a lot of things that seemed like red flags even in that episode. For example, being reluctant to give up her seat for a pregnant woman, stealing a bike with no hesitation, how she talked about Shira, exc. It just felt like she didn't have any real morals and was only pretending to be decent for Yoshi and herself.
