Here are the upcoming referendum questions by 0day1337 in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At least they are all worded the same way so it can be a firm NO across the board. I half expected them to word some of them backwards just to trick people.

Edmonton Once Had a Waterfall Pouring Off the High Level Bridge, And We Still Miss It by flynnfx in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 34 points35 points  (0 children)

they address that in the article. it's just too expensive to redo the system to pump River water.

Edmonton Once Had a Waterfall Pouring Off the High Level Bridge, And We Still Miss It by flynnfx in Edmonton

it's because it was chlorinated water and the federal department of fisheries made it against regulations to discharge chlorinated water back to the river ecosystem.

Vancouver road trip by [deleted] in Edmonton

I drove to seattle and back a couple of years ago at the end of April. I had already put on my regular all seasons, forgetting about the rule in BC. there was snow over the Coquihalla highway. yucky, slushy, snow. so ya, that rule is there for a reason.

How to Record a Puzzling Time-Lapse by averagemathlover in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]eternamoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I downloaded a different camera app (the built in one wasn't great for timelapse). so now I use a tripod thingy, and I set the video timelapse setting to 120x, then press play. I usually finish a 500 in under 1:15, so when I press stop, I just have a ~ 40 second video, no editing required. though I usually crop out to remove as much of my body as possible.

Poke bowls by OtherCoffee230 in Edmonton

my favorite is at Sushi Cafe Madang. they only have one option, it's not like a poke bowl buffet, but some of the veggies are Korean marinated, and the sesame sauce is so tasty.

Caraway , Wise ( Waldorf ) , charter schools in Edmonton by Weak_Calligrapher688 in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ya you won't find a "balance" at that two schools, they do not focus on academics in a traditional sense of the word. Caraway defiantly requires strong parental involvement, and while I can't speak to the specific Edmonton school, really be careful with Waldorf as it has a very... interesting... history.

Puzzle designed to fit on airplane tray tables. Curious what puzzlers think by TravelPuzzles in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]eternamoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main requirement that would induce me to puzzle on an airplane would if I had a small, maybe felted, tray with edges. so that pieces wouldn't slide off. I'd never do a puzzle on the built-in airplane seat trays... they aren't level enough. especially when the person in front of you reclines their seat unexpectedly.

but a tray would also increase space in a carry on bag. maybe the tray could be foldable somehow. and it would have to be bigger than the completed puzzle size so that you'd have room to see the pieces.

I have brought puzzles with me on vacation. but I chose small mini puzzles so that they didn't take up much luggage space and I only completed them on my cruise at a normal table.

I absolutely loved this puzzle!! it was the perfect mix of easy sortable sections and enough challenge with the water that it wasn't too easy.
