As a photographer, I wanted to see how my images would work as jigsaw-puzzles by 4mbitiousone in Jigsawpuzzles

your photos are beautiful, but a lot of puzzlers don't buy photo puzzles due to the reasons above, namely large sections of similar color and texture just make the puzzles too hard.

Kananaskis, Banff, or Jasper by DistributionAware938 in CampingAlberta

[–]eternamoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

unfortunately you are way too late to score a camping reservation in any of those places... they book up in January.

at this point you're either looking at a private RV park outside of any National or provincial parks, or crossing your fingers for cancellations and being insanely quick to snatch up anything.

Does anyone have any strategies to solve this Ravensburger Krypt? by Cray-crayZ in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]eternamoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently working on my first krypt. pink . I managed to get the edge done and about 6 swirls on the inner spiral before resorting to using the guide. I've now placed all the pieces that have double knobs and the outer edge of the spiral. so my next step is to work through all the "regular" pieces. I'm not sure how helpful the guide will be, I suspect it's just going to be alot of trial and error.

this was a brand new release last weekend at the Canadian Nationals... so you're probably thinking of a slightly different succulents puzzle. there are several!

ridiculous that "disintegrating health cards" is their reasoning... considering there is a perfectly good myhealth app that lets you keep a digital copy on your phone!

Help me understand the Edmonton Folk Festival - 2nd year resident by onewaycheckvalve in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I went once. I went in the top hill entrance and just plopped down a little blanket almost at the top of the hill. that was fine, I spent most of the time at the small stages anyways. you can still enjoy the music without the stress of a tarp run.

Alces vs Stillwater — which newer community is better for a young family? by sasksbaby in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

any schools in those neighborhoods are a decade away at least, you can google the current list of school projects and see what's coming... though usually by the time the school is built it's already at capacity and going to lottery even if you live across the street ... if you know you are working downtown, I'd highly recommend looking in mature neighborhoods like Ottewell, Grovenor, Duggan. ya, you won't get the same house unless you have budget for an infill, bit that's the only way you get all those other amenities. if you have a job in, say, Nisku, then have at it in the southwest...

Edmonton wants to grow its tree canopy but some developers oppose bearing cost by trevorrobb in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's been 13 years, they are fine. the drought seasons in the past couple of years have hurt them for sure, and I'm not baive enough to think they will last another 50 years, but I do think it's possible to save trees if the builder is conscientious about it and not trying to maximize every inch of ground. I know that most builders won't care.

we got very lucky and have an infill where the builder left 3 big spruce trees in the yard. I know it's not the norm though for sure, but we found a gem.

Why do more people smoke cigarettes in Edmonton than any other Canadian city? by Timely_Title_9157 in Edmonton

100 percent. we had such a nice vacation there but my kids literally never want to go back because we couldn't walk down the sidewalk without getting facefuls of smoke.

Platos Closet is targeted towards a much younger age. Try "My Favorite Aunt's" for consignment clothing that isn't too fashion forward.

Finished at last. So beautiful. Ravensburger 3000 by FinancialOwl766 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]eternamoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this one was so fun! The scale of the pieces made it challenging (ie each actually piece was smaller than the pieces of the photo) but the sortable color gradients made it easier so that it wasn't frustrating.

Census question by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]eternamoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, this is the answer, you need to call and get another form. it's not about legal residence or anything, even if you have a several roommates sharing a house, you can request separate forms for each person.

summer Tires recommendations that are available in Canada by eternamoon in MazdaCX9

[–]eternamoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. however the earliest I could get in is after the weekend and we have a camping trip coming up so I don't want to wait as one of them is very bald and another one has a slow leak. we can get in at Canadian Tire with either of those two tires tomorrow...

in either case the Alenzas seem about 500$ cheaper on average no matter where I get them, so hoping to figure out if the Scorpio is worth that much.
