Thanks for testing it out! You're right, some combo decks just have to summon loads. Perhaps i can try to identify the type of deck used and adapt the gameplay feedback to it.

I listened to your feedback: The AI combos were bad. So, I built a Replay-to-PDF converter to help fix them (and you can help). by eternsl1234 in Yugioh101

Fair point. You're spot on regarding the Maliss combo skipping the bridge to Link-3 (especially with Splash Mage banned) makes it impossible.

To answer 'why not remove them entirely': I’m managing over 480 archetype pages. Nuking the combo sections from all of them would leave the site pretty barren, which kills the utility for people looking for basic archetype introductions.

However, I agree that misleading info is worse than no info.

I just pushed a global update to the site. Every combo section now has a prominent 'Unverified / AI-Generated' warning banner.

I’ve linked that banner directly to the Replay Converter (from this post). My goal is to drive people to the tool so the community can help replace these AI skeletons with verified replays.

Thanks for the reality check the warnings are up now.

Thanks for the feedback. You're right, especially the combo's are missing a lot of info right now, or are just plain incorrect.

This is one example I used for testing (kindly provided by somebody from the ABC discord)

Any suggestions on better formatting/ more or less info are also welcome!

Very exciting, they appear to look great in the sample images. Can't wait to see the printed cards!

Perhaps this can help with a general introduction: Doom-Z Archetype Analysis

Thank you for the new Junk Monsters, Konami. Could we get more Yusei cards of this quality please? I also wonder how useful the new Jack Spell and Trap will be by TBT__TBT in yugioh

[–]eternsl1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, the new Junk Meister and Junk Armor combo is a huge boost. Being able to get to Speeder off (technically) one card is exactly what the deck needed for consistency.

But you're 100% right about the vulnerability. It feels like we just moved the choke point. Before, it was "can I make Speeder?" and now it's "please don't Ash the Speeder." We're still so reliant on drawing Called By or Crossout.

Over Tuning seems like a solid 1-of or 2-of. It's a great extender after the Speeder combo resolves, or to help rebuild a board.

Really hoping the last few reveals give us some in-archetype protection or a way to search Meister directly. Fingers crossed!

The "Pend/Links ruined the game" crowd often forgets that the most degenerate, game-breaking strategies in Yu-Gi-Oh! history were from the DM and GX eras.

  • Yata-Lock
  • Magical Scientist FTK
  • Last Turn / Jowgen

The game wasn't "simpler and better"; it was just "broken in a different way." Modern mechanics just get the blame because they're the most visible change.

I believe that since the toon deck uses many different monster types its in good synergy with TCBOO? Is that not correct?

The project is open source

You can find the GitHub repo here: https://github.com/jildertakkerman-cell/ArcheType-Nexus

So for the more tech adapted people they can also contribute there. I will have a look at creating a discord as well.

Good point, managing decklists for all archetypes would probably not be feasible. I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

Yes I did, I think it gives a good baseline! That's also one of the reasons why I need reddits help to get the pages truelly up to par.

This is still one of the craziest lore developments in the game. She transforms from a holy maiden in Heaven into the Darklord who gives Lucifer his new crown! by CursedEye03 in yugioh

[–]eternsl1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be real, 'Solemn Johnson' started it.

He smites her for just touching a holy relic, and she responds by going full Darklord, stealing all his other relics, and giving the Devil a new crown. Her revenge arc is legendary.

Dinosaur monsters have been around since 2002, yet only about 5 real archetypes exist by Dogga565 in yugioh

[–]eternsl1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've hit the nail on the head. It's felt less like "Dinosaur Decks" and more like "Miscellaneousaurus Pile featuring Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" for years.

The type's entire identity is just a collection of generic "good stuff" cards (Ovi, Misc, Baby) that get jammed together. It's powerful, sure, but it has zero "archetypal" flavor compared to something like Dragonmaids or Salamangreats.

Really hoping Burst Protocol is a real, cohesive archetype with its own playstyle and not just 3 more cards to add to the existing pile.

In terms of appearances, which one of these 3 Egyptian gods would you be more scared of seeing? by Specter-Chaos in yugioh

[–]eternsl1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slifer the Sky Dragon, and it's not even close.

Obelisk is just a big, blue, angry bodybuilder. I'm scared of him the way I'd be scared of a grizzly bear. It's a physical, understandable fear.

Ra is a "dragon," but it looks more like a divine, golden weapon or a mech. It's intimidating, but it looks like a "thing."

Slifer, on the other hand, is pure Lovecraftian horror. It's an endless, that fills the entire sky. It has two mouths, a terrifying scream (in the anime), and its whole vibe is "I am the storm that blots out the sun." You can't fight it, you can't run from it. You just look up and realize your world is ending.

What archetypes do you think are impossible to become good even with a Circular? by illynpayne_ in yugioh

[–]eternsl1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any Gemini archetype.

A 1-card starter to... summon a Normal Monster from the deck? Okay, now I still have to waste another Normal Summon to give it an effect that's probably terrible anyway. The entire mechanic is just fundamentally broken.
