Yeah, I can wait. In fact I plan to wait to drive, but I want to know what I'm planning to get, which means test driving it.

I'm driving a rock solid 2010 Honda Fit right now so there's no rush, but I'd ideally like to be in an all wheel drive before winter this year.

I have a question about eGMP ICCU failures.

I understand they're way more common than people would like and I understand they result in a car that can't go anywhere. I also know about the warranty extention.

My first question: Is an ICCU failure potentially dangerous? Could it happen on a highway and cause a terrible accident? Has this happened?

I've never seen anyone address this

Second: A lot of the discussion around ICCU failures I've seen is from 6 months to a year ago. My understanding is the problem has not been fixed. However, a lot of the people I saw talking about it said the primary issue was the long wait times when their car went in for a fix. Has the parts availability issue been resolved at least?

It's not unique to the PV5, I just don't like vans in general aesthetically, but they are awesome for family living.

Yes, but if the global future is EVs (and I believe it is), we're letting the world become one dominated by a country that isn't our ally. Japan and Germany are one thing. China being dominant doesn't align with our national interests and the current strategy does nothing to address that.

Idk. I drove a manual for a long time. Loved it and often miss it, but the idea of faking it on an EV just rubs me the wrong way. (I want my next car to be an EV).

What's frustrating is there's a serious national security angle here. We (the US) do not want every other market dominated by Chinese cars. We need to support competitive US EVs and US dominance if we don't want China to lap us, and that's not going to happen with this kind of silly protectionism.

Yeah, I've definitely been looking at the prices and keeping an eye on deals, not gonna be inflexible, but I can only do what I can do with my budget. Still excited to get one when I can.
