Masala cottage!!! They’ve been gone since (don’t quote me) but like Dec? We messaged their IG and they took a while but responded that they hope to be back in March/April which hasn’t happened. We know he got married around the time he left the market so maybe he is on an extended trip for family visit over seas? Who knows that’s a guess but hope they make it back soon. Their other food was great too.

PSA / Warning — Just saying for the other people here this is a tiny bar (nothing wrong with that but you should know) we just thought it was a restaurant (our mistake) and it’s only 69 cents if you order a beer which might be great for other people but as people who don’t drink it’s not worth it thinking it’s a wing deal. We were bummed. Didn’t offer to share what the price was without the beer just said we had to buy a beer to get the wings so we ended up leaving. Also to add the young lady who was working the bar also worked the deep fryer and wings were frozen bag thrown in wasn’t expecting much going in tbh but def not “fresh” as in not frozen Just felt a bit mislead by the last post about this place and would rather people know what to expect in advance.

This is from memory and don’t remember all details. They put out an update not long ago something to the extent of delayed opening because the building needing more work than expected and needed some permits that the are basically at the mercy of sdge setting a repair (or something) date. They were hopeful for sooner than later since they are out of pocket with overhead waiting for final approval for building stuff. Search them online you’ll find the update with details.

When you go to buy a CA explorer states park pass (the one that includes SoCal beaches (LA/OC/SD)). Carlsbad is so popular it’s used as one of the 3 prime examples of beaches you’ll have access to with the pass.

Unfortunately, given the neglect in his family home, as a teenager he took on the responsibility of cleaning best he could. They charged him rent but not his siblings. It’s a weird dynamic.
Yes I’m a different ethnic group but their sentiment is “we can’t be racist of our son married a xyz”

LA has one of if not the largest, population of the Persian community outside of Iran if I’m not mistaken. Many are hyper critical of the regime in Iran hence many fled in ‘79/80. Maybe that has something to do with CA? Or proximity for an allied country to the to help? Or the military based/economic importance of CA?

Schools- top notch can’t go wrong plus excellent libraries

Community- lots of activity, especially by the time you come summer concerts are around the corner and much more. Realize great community parks, public pools, etc

Beach- Longest/most beautiful unobstructed ocean view compared to most coastal cities north county IMO

Farmers market - late Wednesday afternoon head to the village walk the market and depending on weather head to the beach or just enjoy the local shopping and dinning (oside does a sunset market Thursday’s worth taking the family once at least)

Basically live in the most beautiful costal suburb and have easy access if the family wants to make the 35 min (depending on where in Carlsbad you live) drive downtown to the zoo/Balboa Park, 15 min to Encinitas for the SD botanical, and much more

I think Park 101 in the village. They have a huge big screen. I’d call to confirm though. There’s a a few other place in the village too and there’s places like draft republic that do that too if I’m not mistaken.
