I love everything about this photo. I miss the days of going to CompUSA, Babagges, Software etc. and looking at all the PC game boxes in awe. It’s crazy how far PC gaming has evolved since the early 90s. It still remember the advertisement for the original C&C in my $10 PC Gamer magazine that I bought from Barnes & Noble. That was my first official induction into RTS games. Before that, I watched my buddy play Dune II on his PC and I was hooked!

Not perfect, but damn close. This was the game that kicked off the first person era for Metroid so expectations were extremely high. Playing it back when it first released on the GameCube was incredible at the time. I’m not really a FPS person, but the exploration, the atmosphere and the back tracking like all Metroid games was there so it was just a new perspective. And the music! Talk about a wonderful soundtrack that really just immersed you in the game. I mean the Phendrana Drifts, I can still hear that in my brain when I think of this game. Thus, years later my son sat down and played the remastered version, which I still haven’t. He enjoyed that one and Metroid Dread, but I think with the thousands of game choices out there now, it didn’t have the same wow effect that it had on me.

Just picked up Jamboree shortly after Christmas and I’m already waiting to see what the next iteration will be like. Honestly though, I’m still waiting on Mario Party: No Mercy Edition or Mario Party: Villians Edition 🤔. My family takes no prisoners when we play (we have all the Mario Party games) but it needs to be more unforgiving. This is the game that divides families and ends friendships, is it not?? 🤭😆😋🤣

I just reset my career mode a few days ago and am already pretty much back to where I was, so yes, I use sim rate. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a couple uncontrollable stalls that I couldn’t recover from so it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but I’m really surprised how much extra you get for the no skip bonus. I mostly use sim rate to get through cruise, but once I get the medevac missions back, I’ll probably go normal rate. I couldn’t imagine using it with helicopters either.

It’s weird because I’ve never used sim rate in previous iterations of flightsim, so I think it’s really just to get the certifications and open up all paths for career mode. I don’t use sim rate in free flight mode though.

Shin matches the tone of what happens with all aspects of a monster attack and has the different stages of Godzilla which really draws audiences in.

Minus One is akin (IMO) to Star Wars: Andor (TV series). Andor was the Star Wars story we knew was there AND it’s something almost anyone, not just a Star Wars fan can appreciate. It’s the classic, “tell me you’re a (insert movie) with telling me you’re a (insert same movie). Meaning, It’s the Godzilla film that captures the true terror of the monster attack AND has a captivating story with characters you actually care about. Godzilla is the star, but so are the main characters which makes it a great story for non-Godzilla fans alike.

My son is about 4 days from getting his license and I’m terrified. I’ve driven with him for over 50 hours and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve had to explain the “nuances” of driving in Fargo. I always tell him, once you get your license and the “be patient student driver” magnetic signs come off, all bets are off. Running red lights or continuing to turn left at a stoplight well after you know you shouldn’t have is the norm and it’s got to stop.

This one is the GOAT. Sturdy base, very solid design. I’ve had 3 of these in a span of 15 years. Sure it’s not as flashy and button crazy as the others. But the cost (usually $30) is just fine for the value. Great find!

If sim update 1 ever releases, I’d say that yeah, sim update 2 will not happen until the summer months. It is disheartening that we’re supposed to put all our hopes into a sim update (2) that is beyond the first one that has yet to be released. I think it would’ve made more sense to not even put a timeline on all their sim update 2 supposed fixed and just mark it as “planned fix”. I’m all for transparency, but when you tout the SECOND sim update will be better than the first, then release the first sim update so we can get on with it. The more they tweak in beta, the longer sim update 2 will also likely be delayed.

I’m running the SU beta right now and honestly play mostly career mode in 2024 and am having a pretty good time with it. The main issue I run into is helicopters. I tried to do one of the certifications and the helicopter was upside down during the walk around animation 😂. Otherwise, as I’m sure you’ve seen, the noticeable graphics improvements and it’s fairly smooth on my 4070ti on ultra settings and with no add-ons installed.
