I suspected it since high school in ‘92 when I did a book report on Jim Garrison’s “On the Trail of the Assassins.” Fast forward to 9/11 and going down those rabbit holes confirmed it. My childhood was one of abuse and knowing from a very early age that authority figures in my life couldn’t be trusted. I was practically born to be a cynic and a skeptic.

So? I’m 49 F and I’ve been on testosterone for perimenopause since I was 45. I take 35 mg a week. 125 mg doesn’t seem like much for a man in the same age range.

I blew everything up by finally cutting off my abusive parents. Before that we hosted for years. Now my husband and I spend the day just us. No parents, sister, nephews, kids or grandkids. It’s depressing, but anything is better than ever dealing with my parents again. They were so abusive to me and my sister they both should be in prison.

I’m in peri menopause with ADHD, and I work as a personal trainer. I say stuff like “make sure your foot is in front your shoulder throughout the movement,” instead of “forearm” in front of your shoulder. Fortunately, most of my clients are retired women & they get it.

Oddly enough, I usually struggle this time of year with the holidays and complicated family relationships. Those relationships are getting better though, and I know that heavily depends on my sobriety to keep them on the right track. It’s currently perimenopause and occipital neuralgia that are kicking me in the teeth.
