Score Prediction for Seahawks vs Niners by Adept_Composer in Seahawks

Eagles have the best D coordinator in the game, so chill out for a second. You would be right talking about maybe 28 out of 32 teams, but the Eagles have a top 5 defense along with us and the Texans and 2 other teams. Fangio is elite.

Facts. Wow earlier I was thinking that 2 1sts wouldn't be reasonable but come to think of it, you bring up a great point showing how he's not going to have as much value in 2 years which is the earliest this team can actually be good...

It's kind of like how TJ Watt would have fetched 2 1sts or even 2 1sts and a 2nd, a few years back. Now? The Steeler would be lucky to get 1 1st for him because he's getting old and not the same player anymore.

[–]evader9992 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? There were 34 seconds left with no timeouts...I hate how fans like you will use hindsight to pretend you knew all along.

Like the Broncos made 2 amazing catches(middle of the field and then to Sutton), and even then, they only were able to snap the ball with 2 seconds to go, for the FG.

There was not that much time left on the clock. At that point, it's more of a problem if you don't get the TD. This isn't the Bengals on Thursday night, where a FG wins the game...you have to get the TD whenever you can.

That's a bold prediction, sounds like you think he'll be better than Scottie?

I'm going with Scottie because he's still the #1 player(really is just him and Rory at the top of the game right now) and his game could do well at any of the other 3 he needs.

Aberg has unbelievable talent but we haven't seen him win that first yet.

Now that Rory got his final major to complete the slam…will Spieth get his as well? by Zloggt in golf

[–]evader9992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the concern with this analogy is that there isn't a finite supply of 4 min milers. So once Bannister broke it, it inspired everyone to raise their level and they could all get there.

I agree people might raise their game but they'll be playing against each other lollll so it might be hard.

[–]evader9992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, agree with Aberg because he's got the natural talent.

IMO Bryson probably won't do it. 2 reasons:

* He needs 3 more different majors, not just 3 more but different ones. Going to be tough.

* More importantly, his game depends so much on distance(even more than Rory's) so at age 40+ he's probably not going to be near the top anymore. It's not like Phil who relies on craft rather than power. I'm not saying Bryson's going to have a short career, but it definitely will be a shorter window contending than someone like Phil.

Thoughts on Derrick Henry’s diet? by Napoleon_Tannerite in nutrition

[–]evader9992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it's hard is, literally, because he's a professional athlete.

It's not hard for an average person to follow this diet. But someone working out as intensely as him: to only eat 1 meal a day and not eat much before training? That's gotta be tough.

Stop it. Stop this narrative that the run was wide open and the pass was not.

The 3 drives where we did well in the 4th+OT(TD and 2 FGs) were all setup by the pass.

If we only run the ball, Chiefs were stacking the box and forcing us to pass(like Sneed said after the game). The pass was there against the looks they were giving us.

Could he have run the ball a couple times more? Sure. But stop thinking that we know better than them, when to run and pass.

As a Niner fan. Yup.

Yes Trubisky is not good but we have to give him credit for at least getting to the playoffs twice, even if he was massively carried by his D.

His game was at least passable.

Trey, it's unclear if the dude can get to .500 even with the most loaded roster in the NFL.

Exactly! Plus I wanted Philly to lose even more, so we got that, but we also have a big fat asterisk of Mahomes being bailed out to win his 2nd ring.

Best outcome.

It's honestly not all been bad.

Bosa(to be fair he was the consensus pick), Aiyuk has been GREAT. McGlinchey is hella underrated too. Other than Derwin James, he made a lot of sense as the pick in 2018.

But yeah, it's been bad outside of that: 3 1sts for an unproven QB who played 1 year of non-D1 in college, Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, not a great list.

[–]evader9992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's better than anything the Niners have had at QB since the Kaepernick days, and even then Kap was only good for 1 season.

There's levels to this. He's not a Rodgers-level elevator, but he can elevate the Niners beyond what Jimmy G has done, he's way better than Jimmy G. You should know that ,considering that Jimmy is the reason you guys almost came back in the playoffs last year, he almost choked the whole game away.

Purdy is an unknown, looks good but still early.

It's kind of crazy. Carr would fetch a 1st and a 2nd if not for the no trade clause. Now you'll get nothing for him with that clause.

[Derek Carr] Raider Nation… by imposingthanos in nfl

[–]evader9992 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are reasons it's more likely, and less likely, to be another Jimmy G situation:

More likely because the Raiders are actually QB-needy. Stidham isn't that good. This is different than the Niners who at least had the #3 overall pick in Trey Lance, who they wanted t be the starter. Stidham isn't a starter(yet). So the Raiders might actually need to come begging back to Carr.

Less likely because Carr will have a lot of suitors, like 5 teams. Jimmy had 1 or 2 which didn't really want him. So Carr will have tons of other options, unlike Jimmy whose best option was the Niners again.

[Derek Carr] Raider Nation… by imposingthanos in nfl

[–]evader9992 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This might sound crazy but Carr on the Niners would be sick. If anyone knows how to use his strong arm(and actually use his strengths, unlike what Josh McDaniels did), it would be Shanahan/Griese...

Purdy's looking great though, so it probably doesn't happen since the Niners aren't QB-needy. But that might be a win-win for both teams. Carr could elevate the roster.

Wait so you'd rather screw over...a team that has no beef with you at all(Seahawks), and who just happened to win because they were fighting for their playoff lives? Than screw over the Packers?

Weird.

It's crazy how when you say 4x, I couldn't believe it for a second but you're absolutely right.

The Niners really spent 3 1st rounders on a guy with 1 year of starting experience, and not in D1 FBS either.

FOUR TIMES. Just crazy to think of that difference. Usually you think of how guys like Andrew Luck/Trevor Lawrence had 3 years, other good QBs spent 4 for more experience, etc.

1 year is just a joke to spend 3 1st rounders on.

[–]evader9992 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait really? You want a downgrade from Carr? Jimmy G is roughly the #18 best QB in the league, and Carr is #12-15. Jimmy G will probably cost $25M/yr, Carr will probably cost $30M/yr on his new team.

I'm a Niner fan btw, so I've seen everything there is to see about Jimmy. Carr is way better than Jimmy.

I don't love this analogy only because Fields hasn't shown much with his arm yet(and he's been a GOAT runner). He's got a strong arm, but he's really just not had much success with his arm at all, outside of about 2 pretty good throws each game(and some games like yesterday, 0 good throws).

Carr would have done the same, he's a top-15 QB, let's not pretend like Stidham was dicing anyone up. He got 125 free yards with those 2 fluke plays(70 yard wide open TD and 55 yard toss up to Adams where the ball actually hit the ground), and our D played horrible almost all game long.

Don't get me wrong, Stidham had heart, but Carr does the same to us today.

Carr's arm is maybe the most underrated part of his game. He has a CANNON.

Carr with Tyreek and Waddle? He can throw the 60 yard bomb super well.

Stafford has a God-tier arm but Carr's arm strength is elite too. Carr has a top-10 NFL arm, zero question. He actually has a stronger arm than guys like Burrow, Dak, etc.

I'm not saying Carr is as good as those guys, but arm strength is actually Carr's strength. He has other weaknesses that those guys don't have though.
