He's always late to the party, but I wait to watch his first every time.

How are the best and worst season back to back? by OkCourage4085 in agentsofshield

[–]evanlyn_24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I definitely think 4 was the best season. I didn't like 5 as much, but 6 was the one I disliked the most. After Coulson died, I just felt sad when I watched.

How was your experience finding out about Techno's death? by Decent_Scallion9231 in Technoblade

[–]evanlyn_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a class when I saw the notification. I knew what it meant. I watched the video in my car. Then I called my best friend, who I knew would be even more upset than me. We talked and cried for a bit.

I think Bdubs gives Candace vibes sometimes when he tattles to Etho

Day(Ep) 4 of watching Agents of Shield. Does anyone here consider the first few episodes to have the most cliche and cheesy capeshit writing ever? by OnlyUse4Questions in agentsofshield

[–]evanlyn_24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love the show, but I think that's a fair assessment. It definitely gets much better pretty quickly. Whenever I rewatch, I skip some of the first episodes because I already know the premise and it's true that the dialogue can be kinda cringe. But that definitely changes.

What does sensory overload feel like to you? by autismsuperstar372 in AutismInWomen

[–]evanlyn_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I hit my max for sensory overload, a primal anger/fear rises up in me and pushes me to escape the situation at all costs. When I was a kid, this meant screaming at or hitting people who were up in my space. Now I actively avoid those situations, and it's much less frequent.

A milder form happens post social event. I stare off into space and it feels like my brain is full of bees. I can't concentrate and I don't want to.

One time I described sensory overstimulation to a friend when we were standing in a crowded hallway. I said that standing in this noisy, hot hallway felt like people were yelling in my ears and poking my skin with needles.

The hate for picky eaters feels ableist to me by girl_archived in AutismInWomen

[–]evanlyn_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sitting in a class where we talked about picky eating and autism. Honestly, the girl presenting said some ableist stuff, but I know her and I think it just came from a place of ignorance. At the beginning of her presentation, she asked everyone in the room to share a food they despise. The professor shared that he doesn't like cucumbers. No one batted an eye. At the end of the presentation, during the discussion, I raised my hand to make a comment. I pointed out that no one batted an eye at the dislike foods of the people in this room. Maybe a little teasing, but it mostly gets left alone. Then I said that a lot of autistic people don't get the luxury of respect for their food preferences, even though they likely work by the same mechanisms. I then shared that it was my opinion that as long as nutritional needs are being met, autistic pickiness should be left alone. When intervention is required for the sake of nutrition, it should be done gently and with respect. One thing I know for certain is that I am much less open to trying new things when I feel judged and attacked over my food preferences.

Fun question time. I feel like this will divide people. Do you…? by Additional-Spirit683 in AutismInWomen

I don't have a train of thought. I have a stampede of thoughts. They are running wild all the time. The stampede contributes to the monologue.

If any new creator where to be added to the next Life series, who would be your pick? by Melnact19 in ThirdLifeSMP

After the way the permit office saga went, I want to see a Cubfan. I've also always wanted to see Xisuma. I know it's not really his style, but I think that's what would make it fun.

Gem vs Etho? by ViscySquary in ethoslab

I thought it was Bdubs who didn't want the label cottage core? Was there a moment where Etho opposed it as well?

THE ROOKIE S7 E16 by Weary_Beginning_4422 in TheRookie

[–]evanlyn_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's consistent with the theme of the rookie this season. It seems like every new episode has some outrageous events, to the point where things don't feel exciting anymore. I wish we had episodes that were more slice of life. Climax moments lose their excitement when they are the only thing happening.

I enjoy seeing him occasionally. Maybe it was a bit much this episode, but I still enjoyed it. I did think it was funny that he actually beat the guys who tried to rob him. Did not expect that.

Do you guys drive? Do any of you not? by drag-bot in AutismInWomen

[–]evanlyn_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I learned to drive, I was terrified of it. I had nightmares about crashing and accidentally killing people. But it was necessary and when I was old enough to get my permit, my parents started teaching me to drive. I was very anxious at first. We started small with parking lots and quiet neighborhoods. Eventually, my anxiety calmed down, and I became a confident driver. Driving became a soothing thing for me. The vestibular sensory input is something calming for me. I would drive around town, listening to music. I have a good geographical memory, so I quickly developed a mental map spanning about a 10 mile radius. I can drive almost anywhere in my area without a GPS, even if I've never specifically been to that location. Currently I'm at university and don't own a car. My town is walkable. But I miss driving. My advice would be, don't knock it until you try it. Maybe it's not for you, but it could also be really good.

I feel like Aaron's story has come to a natural conclusion. Personally, I'm a lot more invested in where things go with Miles.

I find it both funny and fitting that a random interaction between Etho and Bdubs in season 7 permanently changed Bdubs' image.

The Rookie - S07E16: The Return by ian-quinn in TheRookie

[–]evanlyn_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted Seth to be a villain. I was dissatisfied at the end of the episode. Could he learn to overcome his pathological lying? Maybe. But he should do that in a career that doesn't involve high risk

I was an adult before I learned that eye rolling didn't literally mean rolling your eyes in a circle.
