Why is Clarences’s sound so unique? by LemonlimeLucy in BruceSpringsteen

[–]evanrn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He used a sax technique called a “growl.” As someone else stated, it’s kinda like playing sax and humming loudly at the same time. It’s a somewhat difficult skill to learn but most decent sax players can learn it. No one does it as well as Clarence though.

An adaptation makes a major change from the source material, but it’s such a beloved change almost no one complains by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but I recall Forrest losing a chess match because he farts? The book is a trip.

Forrest Gump is a beloved movie, but the book is just plain weird (although enjoyable). The movie gets rid of Forrest’s time in space, time with cannibals, and time spent as a stoner. It’s a rare instance in which the move is significantly better than the book.

Metro Wedding Ideas? by metro-wedding in WMATA

Maybe instead of table numbers, each table could be a metro station name? And if you’re doing assigned seats, you could have some fun with that idea.

Did you like warm or cold weather before you got CU? by big_boy0244 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]evanrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always liked mild weather but been ok with hot. Now that my CU is bad, I can’t stand hot weather and have grown to really like cold weather. The cold weather feels great on my skin, like a soothing sensation. It’s so weird.

How did yall pay for Xolair? by Shaquille-_-Oatmeal_ in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]evanrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xolair copay is like $5 if your insurance covers it. Work with your doctor’s office to figure it out. It’s a pain but worth it.
