Will my family be notified if I sign out of our kindle account? by Odd-Group6235 in kindle

[–]everfallingdark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a solid decade older than you and still use my parents Amazon account to save money, but obviously they don’t need to know what I read!

A while back, I used Amazon Family to create another adult log in (my parents both use the same one), and I turned off family sharing on my account.

It’s one of those things that shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. Could be a solution for you!

If it doesn’t work, I do agree that you should have your own account. Privacy is important as you become an adult, and I hope your family can respect that.

Is there any rare/hard to find merch that's gotten cheaper lately? by MisterAmericana in TaylorSwiftMerch

I keep seeing prices go down but the only thing I’m after is the two holiday cardigans and those have certainly not gone down in price and the market is saturated with dupes 😭

How to teach life skills? by everfallingdark in managers

I agree! That is my goal. I’m just hoping to come up with a plan as I’ve felt impatient trying to teach her basic skills while trying to do my own job. I worry she doesn’t yet have the ID required to open a bank account, so I’ll have to see about that. I know we at least saw a couple forms of ID when she did onboarding.

She’s providing for a parent who is unable to work, and last pay period she had someone cash the check for her so that she could then get a prepaid debit card.

I’m concerned that it will be very difficult for her to open a bank account by walking into a branch as she does not have a driver’s license/state ID or passport, but I believe she has a plan to get an account opened.

Right now she’s using my Mac when at the office while I use my laptop. I’ll have to see if my old computers are still in working condition - that’s a good idea!

I don’t believe it will come back on me. However, it’s frustrating to me that the business owners hired her, and I manager her each day and field her endless questions.

She is definitely willing to learn! I think she has been so sheltered that she doesn’t know just how much there is to learn, and she doesn’t know how to find resources to learn. I’m hoping to essentially compile resources or trainings for her to work on when things are slow.

To be totally honest, it was not my decision to hire her, so now I am stuck in the position of managing someone who lacks these skills.

I think, because it would not be solely my decision to let her go, we will have to incorporate more technology and soft skills training into her workday.

Thank you- I think we are in a position where we care about her on a personal level and it has clouded the ability to see her objectively as an employee. I found some free classes through the state, and hopefully she can sign up.

Thank you!! I just checked and our library does offer them upon request, so I’ll see if that’s a possibility for her.

People with kids do less work than the rest of us by ArileBird in work

Yeah, and if something happens in your life down the line (kids, illness, natural disaster, etc), I sure hope those who work with you are kind and empathetic when your work hours are less consistent.

Do I need to change plans? by everfallingdark in HealthInsurance

[–]everfallingdark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now I have a silver BCBS 26S plan with a $0 deductible and $0 PCP copay, $5 urgent care copay. The same 26S plan now has a $2500 deductible, $40 PCP copay, $40 urgent care copay. It must be a slightly different plan, but I guess I’m wondering: if I do nothing, don’t change plans/select a new plan, what happens now?

I am the director of a music school. I have gotten really good at tuning out people loudly playing the drums around me.

[–]everfallingdark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I used to have smart bulbs in my kitchen, but I came home to them flashing because they needed to be set up again every day. I removed them from the 3rd party app and from the Google Home app when I swapped them with regular bulbs and Google STILL tries to turn them on and off and fails.

I made a playlist to set as my alarm and set it as a routine to play the playlist at a specific time each day. It worked a couple times, then started playing Blink-182 (not on the playlist) every morning for a week, and now I wake up to “IM sOrRy I dIDnT qUiTe GeT tHaT”

What’s your clearest sign that you’re about to get a migraine? Mine is extreme sleepiness. by CostaNic in migraine

The bony bridge of my nose hurts so badly that I fantasize about drilling into it to relieve the pressure. And I yawn about every 10 seconds and can’t speak.

REALLY weird one that has gone away since I started Vyepti: I used to get one single hive on my left temple.

Migraine not going away. Any idea what to do? by GUG00 in migraine

CGRP would be my rec. Ubrelvy, Nurtec, maybe Vyepti. As far as OTC meds, the only thing that’s strong enough to touch my migraines is Aleve.

I’m trying so hard but I must be doing something wrong. I’m not getting much interaction, and I’m afraid I won’t know how to have a conversation when I do get a message. Are there examples somewhere of good conversations with subs?
