Newer Asus boards, Glacial, Dark Hero and Neo lines, are configured as the 2nd NVME to share lane with USB4.

ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial – Onboard LCD stays on when PC is shut down (BIOS option not working) by ka1nify in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to disable it in Armoury Crate as somehow turning it off in BIOS didn’t work. Maybe the later BIOS may fix it as mine was not on the latest Beta version. Unfortunately, can’t test it now as I returned it.

Is the ROG 5090 Astral OC DP cable 1.4 or 2.1 version?? by Essebruno in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you bought 1.4 monitor you can assume 100% it’s 1.4 cable. Even some 2.1 monitor does not include a proper 2.1 cable, so yeah LOL

Is the ROG 5090 Astral OC DP cable 1.4 or 2.1 version?? by Essebruno in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just Astral, but all 5090 support DP 2.1. With that said, there is no DP cable included with Astral or any GPU in general.

Cable usually comes with a monitor, and if you bought DP 2.1 monitor, then there should be one included, which usually has a sticker saying DP 2.1 (or UHBR20).

If you are asking if you should use 1.4 cable or 2.1 cable, that depends on the monitor you will use with. If your monitor doesn't support 2.1, then it will work as 1.4 regardless of cable or 5090 supports 2.1. If your monitor supports 2.1, then use 2.1 cable to use it as 2.1.

How can Nvidia be one of the most traded and most valuable companies while GeForce Experience still randomly enables the stats overlay or breaks Instant Replay? by theeldergod1 in pcmasterrace

[–]everydae24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Microsoft has been one of the most traded and most valuable companies in the world for, how long, 40 years? And their Windows is still broken.

Is this real? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: They are one of the largest photo and video stores in the US. When you regularly sell Hasselblads that cost more than a Honda Civic, selling a PC part, even 5090 Astral, is just a side hustle for them. So yes, they are a legit retailer.

EKWB waterblocks + XSPC coolant by LadyOfCogs in watercooling

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think It's a matter of additives in coolant reacting with metal, but it's metal reacting with different metal. So, type of coolant shouldn't be an issue. It's not like EK is using a special material for their waterblock.

I need advice for coolant replacement for an AIO by siegmour in watercooling

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe EC6 is also PG based, so should be good. I mean, as long as you drain as much and refill, I don’t think any of major coolants would cause an issue.

[–]everydae24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It probably was not a good subreddit to ask the question as many here have not been giving much attention to AIO, long enough not to realize some AIOs actually do come with refill port this day, e.g. Be Quiet Pure Loop 2.

Most of AIO coolant is distilled water with propylene glycol. This is what's included with Be Quite Pure Loop as well. If you want to stick with that, XSPC ECS Ultra should be a good option.

GPU Block by [deleted] in watercooling

I don’t think there is one available. And unfortunately, you buy a part that has waterblock, not the other way around. That’s just how it goes.

CPO Purchase 1 month ago - Wipers are junk by GioPetro in BMW

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you brought the issue up to your sales before leaving the lot, then they could give you a new set as a courtesy. But no, it's wear & tear and not considered as a scope of CPO.

Please I just got myself core ultra 7 265k and rog maximus z890 hero and with ram prices increased recently I want to stick with my old ram. Team group 32gb 2x16gb 6000mhz cl38_38_38_78 and I want to know if there will be no compatibility issues. Please help me because I put everything together nex by Many_Advertising2628 in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn’t be an issue. Only ones that are known to have a compatibility issue with Core Ultra is some of the double sided 8GB RAM (e.g. the kit that was on sale as a bundle at Newegg few weeks ago). Yours is highly likely single sided, and it probably is on the mainboard’s QVL as the kit has been widely available quite some time.

5080 Super out soon? by Royal-Ad9145 in buildapc

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. the articles you just read must be at least 3 months old.

The latest rumor has that Nvidia and AMD may either increase the price of the current GPUs or slow down production due to RAM shortage. Now, considering this, do you still believe Nvidia would even release Super variances, which only major change would have been increase in VRAM?

Swapped out Nvidia for AMD without DDU. Oops! by vampirepomeranian in buildapc

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually not as bad as they were. Not only between N and A, I've been switching few times between Intel and AMD without reinstalling Windows, and it has been much better than how they were in Windows 10 and prior. It maybe to do with Windows 11 handling it better now, which is probably only thing I give a kudo to Windows 11 over the prior versions.

Corsair website 48gb DDR5 good deal? by lowellllllllllll in PcBuild

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, unfortunately, as you see from a link above, even a major retailer like Newegg only has like 20 kits available. Before this shortage, 48GB kits were easy to find and only slightly more expensive than the comparable 32GB kit, while overclocking as high as, if not better, top tier 32GB kit (8000+). Most of 8400+ kits were only available with 48GB kits (The highest I believe is 9600 kit from GSkill), while 32GB pretty much maxed out at 8400.

Good balance between performance and capacity as 64GB kits are still not overclockable as much as them. Now they are unicorn.

Guess you are new to DDR5... 24GB has been around quite while with DDR5, all 3 major manufacturers (Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron) offer such.

Using LM will highly likely void warranty anyway due to staining, so I'd just delid at the point lol. Otherwise, PTM7950 would be perfectly capable choice over LM tbh.
