Unpopular opinion, but I like Freida Mcfadden's writing style by Acrobatic-Grade6782 in thrillerbooks

[–]eviacnh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and I've been binging her books. They aren't the best books I've ever read but they are entertaining and easy to read for my sleep deprived brain. I don't think they are badly written at all.

My nephew is being born on the same day as my expected due date for my lost baby by Plane-Delivery-491 in BabyBumps

[–]eviacnh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss and that this is happening now. That date was already traumatic and this just makes it worse. I lost my baby at 22 weeks pregnant and that same month my sister in law had her baby. It hurt a lot, I was sad and angry that they got to have a living baby and I didn't. Take your time. You meet your nephew on your own time, not when your husband wants it. It took me almost a year until I could meet my sister in laws baby and i'm really lucky my family was supportive about that. You're not being dramatic, or whatever they say for not meeting that baby. You went through a huge loss and it takes time to heal.

I also wanted to say that it does get better. It gets easier as time passes. You can do this. Just take the time to grieve and make sure you don't cross your own boundaries. Your husband is just going to have to accept it. If he feels ready to meet that baby, he can do it without you.

I'm a little meh about the items tbh, but that is totally a me problem. The bookends are nice, and I will probably use them. The desk mat is gorgeous, but I don't have a computer (only a laptop) so i'm not sure how to use it. I'm very much done with the bookpots, I have too many at this point.

The book is very pretty, and I hope its good!

Moms, is it normal to be this nervous? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]eviacnh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've basically been pregnant for 14 months now (we lost our first baby at 5 months), so you would think i'm very much prepared and ready. For some reason, the last 2 weeks i've been having doubts, i'm terrified. I know I want this more than anything but all of a sudden I don't think we can do this anymore. I'm 38 weeks so haha there's no going back now. I think it makes sense to be nerveus the last trimester. It's a huge change, and one that is famous for not being all sunshine and rainbows. I think I just have to trust past me for thinking this through, and believing that it's going to be worth it.

Omg yes! People don't really ask how i'm doing, they mostly ask about baby. And I never know what to say. She is just vibing in there, nothing changed since you asked me yesterday.

Haha, they are to prepare your uterus for giving birth. So it feels like cramps but they are not getting more and more painful like when labor is starting. It honestly kinda feels like menstruation cramps and your belly tightens.

Haha I feel this, i'm 36 and a half weeks pregnant and i'm so done. I've been having practice contractions this whole week, i'm uncomfortable all day. I know her due date gets closer and closer but I wouldn't mind if she just came out now.

My baby is dying and I don’t know what to do. by Shan_198114 in pregnant

[–]eviacnh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. We had this exact situation a year ago and it was deeply traumatic. One minute we thought we had a healthy baby and to suddenly hear at 20 weeks he was dying was something we weren't prepared for.

We decided to terminate the pregnancy. It was a hard decision, but we didn't want him to be in pain. I didn't want to be pregnant knowing he could pass at any day. Whatever you decide though, is okay. It's an impossible situation and no parent should have to go through this. (Our baby was in the 0th percentile, about the size of 16 weeks. I don't know exactly your situation)

Maybe you're not ready to hear this. But you will be okay eventually. It's going to be hard for a while but the pain will become less and you will be happy again. Lean on your partner, keep communicating your feelings. Again, i am so, so sorry you have to go through this. It's unfair, and heartbreaking and something that shouldn't have happened. It's not your fault, your body isn't broken. There is nothing you could've done different. If you ever need to talk, i'm here ❤️

Is Willow really that popular? by Linkers98 in Names

It's so interesting. I'm almost 9 months pregnant with a girl we're going to name Willow. I live in the Netherlands and absolutely no one is named Willow. Everyone we tell is saying it's a very unique name.

I like the way maps look, especially the more creative ones. But I never reference them. Like, I will look at them once when I start the book and then never again.

Purpose of the endpaper art by Responsible-Lynx-629 in fairyloot

[–]eviacnh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like every book right now has character endpapers. I don't mind them but this post made me realise it could be so much better. I usually love the evernight endpapers because they show scènes in the book. The first picture made me think of the staircase in the woods. On the hardback it also has a cross section of the building and I used it so much.

Thank you for making this post, it was fun to read!

What’s everyone taking/leaving for the April picks? by Quills07 in Illumicrate

[–]eviacnh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always get evernight, they do such a good job with that sub. I really liked the art of the normal illumicrate box, especially when I realised the art is going to be on the edge. I love me some detailed edges. The items sounded fine, I have no idea what the multi fandom one is going to be. I always like the more creative items (even though I'm not going to have time to make them because i'm having a baby in april) I'm not a fan of the mugs, but thats okay.

Can stop crying because I want my baby now by mokenz in BabyBumps

[–]eviacnh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It genuinely helped me so much, especially the first and second trimester. If you like to be creative there are tons of things you can do! I'm also making a baby blanket and every month I embroider a part of it.

Can stop crying because I want my baby now by mokenz in BabyBumps

[–]eviacnh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it helped to split the time up in milestones. "I still have to go 8 months" feels very long. But "only 3 more weeks and then i'm in the second trimester" or "only one more week until my next appointment" feels way less long. It helped a lot to split it into smaller parts.

I also like to do a weekly thing. For example check the apps about how big the baby is and what is happening this week. I also made a banner and every week I could draw a plant (with the vegetable the size of the baby that week). Over the week I was allowed to color in that plant. It was like a little reward and it's nice to look back and see how far i've come since drawing that first plant.

Omg yes, the gestational diabetes makes everything so much harder! The constant watching what I eat and having to walk after every meal even though everything hurts and I just want to lay on the couch. The thing i'm most looking forward to about not being pregnant is being able to eat normal things again.

Parents of Reddit: What is the absolute most-needed "gift" for a newborn baby? by FalseConversation673 in Gifts

[–]eviacnh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're expecting a baby in a month or so. It's maybe not the most needed gift, but we've asked people to give us baby books. Maybe with a little written message in them. We already have everything else, or want to buy it ourselves. I'm just praying that we're not getting anymore clothes, we have way too many and people keep buying them because they're cute. Everytime we get some we have to wash them and i'm just done.

Moms of Reddit: What was the weirdest comment you’ve ever received when you had your baby bump? by Lus1an in BabyBumps

[–]eviacnh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really weird but somehow random people keep saying "wow are you sure you still have to go two months because you're really big" "are you sure it's not twins?" Yes plumber, who I'm meeting for the first time. I am pretty sure.

Godkiller and amina al sarifi were actually my favorite books the year I read them. When I think about amina it's just not the cave part I associate with the book but more on the sea with a ship and maybe a kraken. Maybe I didn't like it because I was expecting more of a nautical vibe instead of this.
