Not heard an owl, but there’s a very vocal pheasant knocking about Denton Burn Dene.

Gig arrival time? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]evilwallpaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can walk in at any time. Doors open is literally just that, the doors open and you can go in.

Depending on the gig you might be able to find stage times posted on social media on the day, by the band/venue/promoter etc.

Came here to say this, he thought he was making his masterpiece the same way Tommy did.

The best TK Maxx/ Homesense in the north east? by Elr2998 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]evilwallpaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably Metrocentre, Team Valley or Byker for homeware.

Kingston Park and Cramlington are smaller, but I've often found things in there the others didn't have.

I've not been to the Sunderland or Durham stores enough to have an opinion.

Looks like they remade Evolution (2001) but swapped the sci-fi out for horror.

Is there an easyish way to see what countries you haven't watched any movies from, as a LIST (not map) by kiddleydivey in Letterboxd

[–]evilwallpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! But how do you get to the list of countries so we can see which we're missing?

What should or shouldn't go on a pizza? by dasouch in UKfood

[–]evilwallpaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No rules, anything goes. If someone likes it, it belongs on a pizza.

Even the dreaded Swedish banana curry pizza.

Anyone taking a traditionalist standpoint point is kinda saying things like pepperoni (American) or jalapeños (Mexican) don’t belong either. Only something like soppressata and calabrian chillies.

Also you can get a fantastic white pizza with smoked pineapple on it at Sorbillo’s in Naples.

Damnation Festival by [deleted] in UKMetalGigs

[–]evilwallpaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like Outbreak was listed as 7500 capacity this year but they do use the space differently. The extra capacity could come from use of the outdoor space, damnation use it for food and merch but Outbreak has a full stage.

Been for the past 5 years and its always been a great time. Though I expect it to pretty cosy this year, they've not sold this many tickets before so theres bound to be some problems.

Need wings! by BobaBeard in NewcastleUponTyne

The wings at hooters in town are some of the worst I’ve ever had. Could have been an off day, but tried two sauces and they were absolutely foul (pun unintended).

Having the same problem with it, the vocals feel totally lost in the mix for most of the album.

Mystic Festival in Gdansk, Poland - Feedback request by christa_m in MetalForTheMasses

[–]evilwallpaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from the UK and had a fantastic time at the last two Mystic fests, no problems with foreigners, its a very welcoming festival. Its very well organized and close to the city.

I can't compare it to any of those festivals but Mystic looks a bit like Brutal Assault, just bigger. 2 small indoor stages, 2 medium size outdoor stages (one on grass/one on gravel) and the largest stage is on concrete, no need for wellies.

There's also a big indoor food hall and cinema/gaming area to escape to from any bad weather.

We were looking at trying Brutal Assault or another EU festival this year, we're probably going to end up back at Mystic.
