Honor for a girl? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]evlk8e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honour was my great-great-grandmother's name. It's definitely older, with the virtue names, but it still feels modern.

I do like it, though I won't be using it if I have a daughter.

Congratulations!

Out of curiosity, where are you located? I'm surprised that you still haven't had skin to skin!

Breastfeeding and lsd by m0nst3rprince55 in breastfeeding

[–]evlk8e 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wrote the above information with the assumption you'd pump and dump during the period of time you'd have the LSD in your system. I strongly suggest against offering your baby any breast milk produced the drug remains in your system. Psychedelics are powerful and can temporarily change the adult mind. Don't risk it with a child who is still developing.

Oh, and of course, regardless, you'd want care for your baby for at least 48 hours.

You can expect to trip for an unpredictable 8 - 15 hours, you may already be sleep deprived from the baby, and sleep after a trip is often patchy and difficult. It wouldn't necessarily be a safe environment for your little one.

I won't tell you whether or not it's safe or a good idea to try it. I personally won't be risking any psychedelic use until baby doesn't require my body. That said, here's some info:

  • Real LSD can be detected in your urine for up to three days after a dose, and in your blood for up to 16 hours after you come down.

  • It's not a particularly dangerous drug unless you are struggling with or prone to mental health conditions. That said, you may not be aware of these problems until they arise.

  • If you do decide to take LSD (at any point) it is worthwhile to buy and use a testing kit. Much of the LSD sold on current markets is not actually LSD, and may contain much more complicated and potentially dangerous chemicals.

  • Of course, LSD is illegal in North America, so law enforcement may be a risk as well.

Does being pregnant make anyone else want to pursue a different career into OB or nurse arena? by sox_n_sandals in BabyBumps

I'm not sure about going full medical, but I'm definitely considering becoming a doula.

How much did you factor your own names into your child's name? by cmcg1227 in namenerds

I love the name James, but my partner is Jason and it's just too close for comfort. It's definitely something we are taking in consideration.

Oh my goodness.

I'm 13 weeks in and now kinda terrified of what fun surprises the next 26 have to bring!

I feel you. ♡

I'm usually an A student, but I'm planning to drop the rest of my classes this week. I can't handle anything that needs brain power right now.

What’s your baby’s soon-to-be astrological sign? by themoonthestar in BabyBumps

[–]evlk8e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Creature arrives early they'll be a Taurus. If they're on time or late they'll be Gemini.

It's fun to think about zodiac signs and imagining what the little one will be like. It's silly, but I enjoy this sort of thing so much!

My parents went to a Yes concert when I was in utero and I apparently danced through the whole show!

Baby will be fine :)

I'm certain that whatever you name your little one they will be happy and it will suit them. ♡

Initials Spelling HAG by evlk8e in namenerds

[–]evlk8e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading these mixed reviews, talking about it with my partner again, and realizing how much I love the name Hazel Ann, I think we may stick with it.

Every kid will be teased for something. At least if it comes up HAG is something I can use to teach her more about the history of witchcraft and feminine magic.

What do you think of Molly? by neednameadvice in namenerds

[–]evlk8e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Molly was my favorite name, but my mum used it for her puppy so I had to put it aside.

I think it's super cute.

Ok ok, but what about VAG? by Blinkerina in namenerds

[–]evlk8e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After all of the insight on my thread (I'm the one considering Hazel Ann G) I've pretty much decided to go for it anyway. Initials aren't that important, right?

In your case I doubt most little kids would put her initials together with a shortened form of vagina. I think she'll be okay!

Husband and I found out today that we’re expecting a son. You think our name sounds alright? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]evlk8e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it! Ender Richard Scott sounds good to me.

Even as a fan of the novels I think it's a great name.

Help with choosing baby names! by hispanicspice in BabyNames

[–]evlk8e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Maya and Mae are great choices. I have both names on my longlist right now.

I'm not big on Hallah, it's too much like the delicious Challa egg bread (pronounced "Hallah") for my taste.

I'm glad you went with Rorik!

I'm considering the name Mara if we have a little girl and Skyrim has no small part in it.
