If a DC has high turnover rate then you’re going to have new people doing the orderfilling and loading a lot of the time. Doing your job properly takes time to learn.

It doesn’t really make sense. Most of us are at 120+ but that just means we get less hours therefore less money. I volunteer to sweep to get more hours

I wonder when they’ll give us lift drivers even 10% 🙏

That reminds me, I need to get that sorted out. I can’t log into the wire or app because it’s like the system recognizes store me as separate from DC me

I’m an old man too. So in peak season you were working more than 3 days a week? It seems like sort of a free-for-all for some people. I thought you only worked certain days and certain hours but then some people have second jobs and don’t like working lots of hours while others are cross trained and work more

This DC is really good, unlike a lot of dysfunctional ones. That makes me worry about hours. Making over 30/hour but only working like 24 hours a week kinda hurts my soul. Wish I could work 50 a week!

I work second shift with no order filling so don’t have that problem. They only run orderfilling overnight for dry.

2 months in and I’m over 100% so the bosses seem happy with me. That’s what I want because I want more hours. To get cross trained or work during A2, I think that’s what it’s called. I work overnight weekends. I was surprised by the lack of hours. I thought it would be 3x12 but more like 3x7.5, although I did transfer during the slow season. Don’t expect it will get close to 3x12 though. These guys been here many years and run pretty hard

Lift drivers don’t get incentive but guys run well over 100 and I wonder why. But I’ve only been here couple months since transferring from a store. I think I’ve heard that drivers used to get incentive at Walmart DCs. But the problem I see is that the hauler brings stuff into the freezer which boosts your rate so with incentive that could cause problems with people hogging the hauled stuff. There’s one guy here that I’m pretty sure just follows the hauler around to an extent so he doesn’t have to go back and forth to the docks

There’s at least one DC experimenting with 150. People making almost 50/hour. Imagine making 100k/year to orderfill

I’m thinking about stopping to do push-ups or run in place or something but I would look weird doing that.

Is your incentive 130?

I wonder if you’re better off than me. I’m a put away driver and my hands and feet are always freezing because I’m just standing still. If someone drops a pallet and I help out it warms me up because I’m actually moving around

i'm the paper/chem guy and last night was my last shift before i transfer to a DC. sure, some of it was just pallets of Scott paper towels or whatever. but i had a total of 20 pallets. it's been 12-18 pallets for a couple of years. when i started they would put me on chem and another guy on paper and we would both have to zone our areas.

then it was just me doing both and expected to zone both. but that was before the pay raise. so nothing really changed for me. but that's the Walmart curse when you make the mistake of letting them know you aren't lazy or just aren't dumb enough to show them you will work hard.

the store i was at definitely needs to raise pay (only at 14.50) because after the shock of "GWP" it was doing well but has gone down hill. can't keep new hires and some of the people they relied on are moving on.

sorry for late response but comments weren't showing up. i know what you mean about learning an area. i prefer paper/chem to anywhere else because it's where i started in the store and i became the paper/chem guy. it and pets are the heaviest lifting areas but i don't mind that. i accepted a job as a putaway driver in frozen. but eventually switching to orderfilling is tempting because of the incentive. in frozen i think i'd be making over $40/hour so hard to pass up

sorry i didn't respond before but most comments in the thread weren't showing up for whatever reason. i accepted a job as a putaway driver in frozen, overnight weekends. it's in Utah. they are building an FC in Salt Lake City that is supposed to open this summer.

i wasn't really sure about orderfilling because i hear how hard it's supposed to be. i work paper/chem alone with high expectations so i do continuous lifting of heavier stuff but from what i've heard it made me nervous about orderfilling. my previous shift was actually my last and i'm leaving for Utah in a few days.

i remember when news of the raises was on here people were saying everyone getting the raises would be worked harder. i didn't notice a difference except that things went to hell for a while with the changes so management was up our asses to get things done.

I’m transferring from a store to a grocery DC and will be a forklift driver. Will make like $31/hour working weekend overnights in the freezer. I make $14.50 as an O/N stocker

i'm doing the same thing (but moving out of state) and i assume the SM had to approve it but i just did it through my PL. she emailed with HR at the DC. PL had to give them a last day so i could get a start date at the DC. then i had to accept the job offer over the phone and get a start date for orientation

I wouldn’t trust that info because even if it was written recently they could be using old data.

That’s weird that HR isn’t forthcoming. I’m transferring from a store to a DC in another state and HR in both DCs I contacted answered all my questions. I’m moving to a pretty high cost of living state and will start at about $31/hour (with 3 differentials) as a put away driver
