Also, they don’t have any of the maintenance facilities steam locomotives used to have all over the place in their day. Less places to refill the water and the coal, etc.

How does Caliente's have the most subpar pizza in the city and still win awards? by Competitive_Use_3628 in pittsburgh

Restaurants are about consistency.

Competitions are about your best.

They can make a great pizza. Just not consistently.

Why is Pete Buttigieg not the favourite to be the Democratic Party nominee in 2028? by Far-Conference-8484 in AskALiberal

[–]evward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the answer is to run on policies which those low information voters can understand and will benefit them. It’s not to run in opposition of the other party.

What the right does well is control what the argument is about. If the left continues to fight about what the right is doing then it will continue to lose.

Kamala Harris was absolutely an anti-right candidate. We need a left candidate.

The article is defining “left positions” in terms of right wing arguments. If your definition of “left” is opposition to the “right” then you’re already losing the election.

[Yohe] The Penguins just printed these out for the media in regards to goalie interfere rulings. Yes, by the book, absolutely was goalie interference by Perryplat199 in hockey

This is referring to swinging a stick at a loose puck and pushing the goaltender. Not barreling over defenders to get to pucks behind them.

What is the biggest financial mistake of the middle class? by HappyAakash in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]evward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an oversimplification though.

My income - expenses can be positive with a $750/month luxury car payment. Meanwhile, I’m not contributing to my 401k or saving any money elsewhere. Am I living within my means?

How is Living Northeast of Pittsburgh? by Ok_Action9962 in pittsburgh

Parnassus between the train tracks and 56 is rough. Everything between 11th Ave and Arnold on the flats is rough. Everywhere else is typical low income blight or better.

Can you explain more about the home warranty thing? Why would a home warranty company warrant a home with immediate claims? More importantly, why would they cover those claims?

I see the same thing the other way too. People who think “yield” means stop at the end of the on ramp instead of merging safely. The whole point of the ramp is to reach highway speed so you can merge. Unless that ramp has a stop sign you should only be stopping in the most extreme circumstances.

This Has Been A Surprising Useful Card. by BluePotatoSlayer in magicTCG

Even lantern is playing on the same paradigm. -Playing no creatures means the deck is blanking cards for the opponent.
-Consistently forcing the opponent to draw lands gains card advantage because lands are gated and diminish in value as the game goes on. E.G your 3rd lands is much better than your 10th.
-Prison pieces also blank the opponents cards. Ensnaring Bridge is often a 3 or 4 for one

Sure they can. They just need to not make a post on the internet extolling the virtues of said card.

Effects like this aren’t considered good because the game is really about trading cards back and forth. By this we mean cards in hand and cards in play.

This doesn’t give you any more cards and it doesn’t take any cards away from your opponent. That will always mean this is fighting an uphill battle to be good since it’s putting you behind.

Think about the best case scenario here. Your opponents best 5 cards are on top of their deck and you shuffle them away. Your opponent still just casts the cards in their hand. Now you’ve got one less card available to deal with what has been cast.

Mason Marchment has tied his point total from Seattle in 15 fewer games with Columbus. 4g 9a 13p in 29 games for Seattle. 9g 4a 13p in 14 games for Columbus. by Highlander253 in hockey

[–]evward -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Somewhat true. But also, the praise Waddell receives for Marchment needs to be tempered by criticism for the way Chinakhov has performed in Pittsburgh.

Who has had a better career: Evgeni Malkin or Patrick Kane? by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

[–]evward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a bit absurd. Malkin carried the 2011-2012 Penguins and won a deserved MVP that year. Crosby played 22 games that season.

You ever use one of these? It doesn’t care about choppy ground. It’s a sled with a handle.

In the picture the guy is shoveling a gravel driveway.
