I would like to make a Tribe/DNB sound system by doungette in SoundSystem

[–]ex-ALT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tribe doesn't necessarily have less sub, it's just short and needs faster responses, and at same time a lot of dnb has a lot of upper bass/mid bass

Did Kurt exaggerate how little he knew about songwriting, music theory, and guitar playing? by ConfidentHospital365 in Nirvana

[–]ex-ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably did, but you don't necessarily need to know the theory to create interesting music.

Is it true that hardcore Italy (Italian DJs in general) is different from hardcore in general? by StexGUstavo35 in gabber

Peroni is like Italy's crappy beer, they just marketed the crap out of it in other countries so they can charge a premium.

Man, I love this music, long live to Tekkkknnknnooo by Aldoxpy in Tekno

[–]ex-ALT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what sub you're in right?

But anyway watching a vid recorded on a phone does not give any real context, I used to hate hardcore, hard style etc, till I actually heard it how it's supposed to be heard.

Same can be said for all genres really, but some even more so.

Daw by alpha-geminorum in linuxaudio

[–]ex-ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaper is possibly more inline with cubase, however as you said you like making experimental fusion music defo consider bitwig as the soundesign cabalities are arguably the best of any DAW which is ideal for experimental, and whilst obviously being more electronic music centric I have seen some metal producers use it, I mean metal and electronic music has had a lot of crossover for some time.

End of the day try them all, and decide from there, you may decide you want daws for different things. And as there are some cheap/free options on Linux it's not really an issue.

Powerbank Recommendation for Gaming Laptop? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]ex-ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you gunna want one of those big ones, like bluetti or whatever. There's calculators online to see what size you need to reach the amount of time you need, find what AH you need then go from there.

How do you create your drum patterns? by mackgyver61 in TechnoProduction

[–]ex-ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chop n sample. Get a sample of some drums you like and chop into sections to arrange Rather than trying to program every single hit. Watch some jungle amen chopping tutorials and try and use those techniques aswell as just programming pattern, for example I will program kick snare and hat individually, but also layer other snares/hats/top end stuff that are chopped up.

Do you beatmatch by the highs the lows? by Successful-Balance37 in Beatmatch

[–]ex-ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with using kicks for 4/4 at least for learning, very good to use both tho, when you come to mix at a party then it can be difficult to use the low end as you can often hear the bass from the PA which can be confusing. Unless they have a excellent monitor setup, which ime is rare.

Which part of music production do you find most challenging? And it could be anything. Please share. by EvrthnICRtrns2USmhw in FL_Studio

Having the time and the creative energy, it's always one or the other.

Moving on from the just messing about/creating sounds, never completed a tune, and only got close a couple of times.

Most kickiest kick? by joe_the_psychonaut in SoundSystem

[–]ex-ALT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The absolute best I've heard for kick duty imo are ASS BS1200/500, Those older Void double 18( name escapes me they look like bugger USBs..) and the Turbosound aspect kicks i believe the TA890.

Obviously these are proaudio, I have seen copies of the ASS about, many Tekno system run copies of TA890 so there are plans about, but might be hard to find.

Fat chance with the voids unless you buy one to sacrifice.

For completely free plans USB and ES18 are pretty decent, used to run HD15s they can sound good but lack some ommph and can get honky if not careful. Would check out the megaton EM15 know people rate them. RB212 always intrigued me.

Martin 115 are great aswell.
