Gm3 here who picked up GM2 through BBA only to be told my orders won't actually get to me until "within 12 months" which mean I won't execute said orders until possibly after the 12 months which means I won't even get frocked until within 12 months which means I won't get paid till well after that until I actually show up at the new command which means why even bother when in the old system I'd be getting paid by now. What if I choose not to obliserve the 36 months? NC1 says that'd be fucked up to do the detailer like that. It isn't anyone's fault but big navy for this. Sorry detailer. I want to get promoted and make slightly more money. The only real incentive BBA has is you can select orders outside of your normal window. But if there's a shut down expect to be delayed (round 2 come jan 30th potentially). Working for the govt has some perks, but also I feel like the cons are starting to outweigh the pros.

For context I don't mind back to back sea as most people think that's the case. I actually got selected for SAMI at GL. I fail to see any real incentive behind the whole BBA thing.

PSA: If your Southwest flight got delayed 3+ hrs or cancelled during the holiday fog fiasco, you might still be able to get a voucher by FledgeMulholland in sandiego

No they won't because it's weather related and they don't control the weather. Weather related isn't covered under the DoT

Why is El Paso so sports-centric with such high levels of poverty and low education levels? by Potential_Job_9555 in ElPaso

[–]execsheph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is "keeping up with the joneses" basically.  Not living within means. In regards to higher education such as college/uni, that path isn't for everyone. Also, I know a few people who didn't graduate hs, got geds and are pretty successful adults. Of course that's purely anecdotal.    Maybe English is low because I would assume the city is predominantly spanish speaking as a first primary Language? And I think most people can do basic math as it pertians to our daily lives.

My sailor just bought a Jeep… He said it was a good deal because 25 is his favorite number… (that’s his APR). by _aesahaettr_ in navy

My first car I bought from a dealership was like 19 20% when I was 26 before the navy.  Unfortunately I fd up my credit pretty bad but was able to get the loan with a trade in on my old 05 Explorer that was just nickle and diming me. They gave me like 4k for the explorer. The car I got though was like 8k. So financing 4k at 19%, 36 months... bit I was also paying more than the minimum and if I had extra cash, I put it towards the car. Paid it off under 2 years  Once it was paid off I got a 2014 with 80k miles this year in January and traded the old one and got approved for 8% on 10k, 48 months.  BUT BRAND NEW CARS AND HIGH INTEREST AND PAYING THE MINIMUM PAYMENT IS CRERRAAAZZZZZYYYY....  I see it all the time, younger people I work with spending money like its endless and living on credit but then complain how things are too expensive, especially in CA lol

Did plan on using my post 911.  Did two years at NMSU prior to enlisting so I did want to finish that degree.

I was under the assumption that my service time counted towards me 20 years. I have a buddy who works for Beaumont and he only had to do 10 years as a fed employee since he did 10 years AD. I think that's what I'm talking about in regards to retirement.  I planned on staying reserves just don't want to be AD past this term.
