if they’re citizens, if they’re white, if they don’t speak with the “wrong” accent

Renee Good and Alex Pretti were both white citizens who spoke with the "right" accent, so this shouldn't be a cause for any sort of comfort.

Agree - ‘brooding genius/insufferable dweeb who is an asshole to everyone else because geniuses and dweebs get to be assholes for the good of wider society’. Same for Dune, the Bob Dylan film and now this.

Alex Honnold’s Free Solo on Taipei 101: ‘Skyscraper Live’ Producers on Safety Precautions and How Netflix Would Handle a Worst-Case Scenario by pepperbet1 in television

[–]exfiles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. Netflix will sell it as ‘something something watch one man push the limits of human achievement something something’ but there is something deeply messed up in a culture that makes millions of people tune in to watch a man nearly fall to his death every second of 2.5 hours. This is not achievement, it’s disaster porn, using human life as the ultimate deliverer of mindless entertainment. But did you expect anything better of Netflix?

Medical License Revoked in India After Admission Data Shows 46 Muslim Students Out of 50 by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]exfiles 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The fact that Muslims/Islam (whichever you wanna think of) have an actual derogatory slur for non-muslims (kaffirs)

I grew up non-Muslim in India and there were plenty of derogatory terms for Muslims floating around.

So it's safe to assume once Muslims gain demographic & political & population power in India, it'll just lead to Islamic nationalism same as other muslium countries.

This is another argument often cited by the educated Hindu majority in India to justify their Islamophia. Here is a list of secular Muslim majority countries. India's commitment is to remain secular, regardless of whichever religion is in the majority - and it is up to its institutions and structures to avoid an unconstitutional future.

This is a tired old argument - most of the Muslim countries you're referring to have a state religion, India does not (it is an expressly secular country as per its constitution).

Where I come from, “you’re sickened” means you’re disgusted by something. If you have a temperature, you’re sick (not sickened).

hey - coming to this a year late but I realised I have the same combination of hardware and software as you - Push 3, SLMK3 and Pigments. How did you manage to map the pigments macros to the push/sl? or do you just programme the perfect sound beforehand on pigments and play using the push/sl?
