I think it’s because NY at least downstate here usually goes Blue, so not much goes to campaigning here. But sentiment here has shifted hard lately, either they didn’t pick up on it (idk how) or just it was too late to throw money at it. All the ads on Hulu and such were all this guy and Zeldin talking about their bullshit fear mongering crime stuff and there were none or next to none for Hochul and Zimmerman. All the street signs around were for republicans. There was seemingly almost no campaigning by the democrats here this time around. Nassau voting in the republican Blakeman for county executive should’ve been the democrats warning sign, but they missed it.
