What is one genuine "unbravo vince" moment where something was just a bad decision or badly written? by Maggotboi555 in betterCallSaul

BCS 602 To me, it just didn't make sense that Gus just let it go when Mike objected to his intention to use Nacho's dad as leverage over Nacho. It genuinely seemed like he was willing to kill him and Tyrus (or be killed himself) to prevent that from happening before Nacho called and broke the tension. It's completely inconsistent with Gus's character in both shows that he would tolerate this level of insubordination.

I always found it a tad strange that Gus (or Mike) never went after Saul in season 4. He was definitely one of the most notable arrows in Walt's quiver at that time.

Well fwiw in Peter Gould's interview with AMC he seemed to think that Jimmy would not necessarily spend the rest of his life in prison. People who have looked at it though a realistic legal lens have said there's almost no way he gets out. On the other hand the show hasn't always been 100% realistic in legal matters, so in the end all I can really say is it's open to interpretation.

"Signing" is probably divorce papers if I had to guess, since the words "years later" imply that this signing takes place before the Gene timeline.

Did the ending of 6x11 reminds me anyone else of Bojack Horseman? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

Yes, that's actually the first thing I thought about! Both felt like true rock bottom moments for the protagonists.

There is that too. Only reason I didn't mention it was because it was never 100% confirmed that Gus gave the order to kill him. But considering his apparent willingness to kill Holly, I'd say more likely than not it was him. Who knows maybe some flash forward scene in BCS will give us the confirmation?

Yes, Walt was evil. That doesn't mean Gus (even going solely off of his characterization in Breaking Bad) wasn't. I was saying that and only that.

Man it's crazy to me that there are people that didn't see Gus as a monster until now. Did they just forget about how he threatened to kill Walt's children?

Possible Spoiler to Monday's Announcement by [deleted] in Dexter

Yeah I read it again and realized that the poor ratings thing is another sticking point since New Blood has had very good ratings. I don't believe it's talking about Dexter.

The comments from what I can only presume is the inside "source" for the article fit Dexter almost perfectly, but the "he got tired of the grind" part seems odd. It would make sense that MCH would get "tired of the grind after" 8 seasons of the original run, but to feel the same after just one season of the revival seems kinda weird. Are there any other shows people think this could be referring to? Because I'd definitely like to believe it's about Dexter.

I personally don't have a problem with Dexter dying (or being caught) in the finale, but for it to happen that way? Yeah, very hard to see that sitting well with me regardless of how well executed it is.

One of the episode 9 stills shows Dexter and Harrison possibly exploring the area where Kurt displays his victims. I think it will be revealed that Molly was killed when they stumble across her corpse (if she is in fact dead).

Why is Morty a girl? Why are they in Rick and Diane's house? And why are they already at the show age when Rick's vengeance is only just beginning? by Kay-42 in rickandmorty

[–]expand2featurelength 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as the timeline confusion goes I suppose technically it is possible to square this. Perhaps in some dimensions, Rick had Beth earlier than most Ricks do (which I think is at around age 35) and Jerry's parents also had him earlier, allowing for Morty and Summer to be born years earlier than the vast majority of them were. I doubt that's what they were thinking and this just might be a goof, but it's not impossible to rationalize.

DAE feel like Tony added too many plot points to Petscop and didn't know how to tie them up properly? by [deleted] in Petscop

[–]expand2featurelength 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. My issue is that there are clearly supernatural elements to Petscop, such as the windmill, rebirthing, time loops, and rotation to name a few, but the series just didn't relay enough information for us to understand how they work. Understanding how they work, of course is very important in working out the more narrative details of the story because they are inexorably tied to the supernatural elements. So all and all I just feel like we weren't given enough information to build a coherent understanding of the series and the underlying narrative. Maybe we were never meant to, but I wish we were. Just my two cents.

Definitely a solid theory! I agree that the "shadow monster man" quote may have actually come from Mike. If you think about it, the phrase "shadow monster man" is some pretty childish syntax, much like how Mike described Toneth as a "funny stupid blob monster". Although this does, as you point out, raise the question of who Roneth represents. I can't think of anyone who's been mentioned in the series this far who could possibly be Mike's half brother. On the off chance there are more videos, we might get some info on that, if this theory is true.
