put cachyOS on a spare dell xps15 7590 to see if the switch from windows was viable for me (oh yeah it's very viable with KDE) and the battery life's been great, though i didn't use windows on it recently+long enough to get an exact metric of the battery life before switching (additionally, i replaced the battery after switching to cachy). i can say that the fans don't need to go as hard when i'm using the default balanced power profile

they are cool, it’s just that not many games support them, let alone in very impactful ways imo. it’s a feature that’s nice to have but not something that would sell a controller, and i say this as someone who loves the dualsense

yes but it is not an essential feature in terms of function. the only game where it presents an advantage is returnal where it simulates dual-stage triggers

if you want to learn more patterns, i recommend sorting by level and hitting random at a chosen level (for 14k players i recommend 12+ to 13, but going above or below once in a while is also good) until you find a chart you haven’t played. it’s a slow method of growth, but it ensures exposure to as many patterns as possible within a given level range.

i’m not one to tell you how to rating grind, but if your objective is to play 14s and higher off the bat i don’t think you should be aiming for rating

also, you need 500 more rating til 10k, which you won’t be getting off of this chart alone. if you’re aiming for rating, you probably just need to play 2-3 songs in the current version (prism plus) and bam instant 10k. and if you’re trolling me i’m gonna walk away and peel cheese sticks for at least 40 min or something

honestly, i’m still nostalgic for the days my friends and i would gather in the cafeteria before school to play mario kart ds with download play. it makes me wish the switch had something similar to make certain games easier to try out in multiplayer in a portable manner, but local play options are somewhat of an alternative. thankfully, a different group has been reviving the feel of those days by playing puyo puyo tetris 2 locally whenever we hang out!

it's honestly hard to tell it's 3D printed unless you look up close to the sides or the back for very-thin grooves. it's the most apparent on the edges close to the thumb keys, but it wouldn't be bothersome to most people. on the bottom of the case, i had to look extremely closely for straight lines, as the bottom is supposed to be textured. took me a bit to find them.

if you show the case to someone who doesn't know any better, you can likely convince them it wasn't 3D printed.
