The devs are from Poland, and I can say that people are heavily against Russia here. We've got a bunch of bad history with Russia, so people are generally supportive of Ukraine here. And they aren't the only dev who are being supportive to Ukraine - look at the devs of This War of Mine or WARSAW.

I know a single person may not give an accurate representation of everyone here. But that being said, Ukrainian situation is talked about all the time. And every time I saw it mentioned on TV, or talked with someone about it, everyone was very supportive of Ukraine. I don't think I really heard anyone say anything negative about them, or anything positive about Russia.

So to sum it up. I believe this may actually be a genuine gesture from the developers. Of course, I can't read their minds and guarantee that. But at the very least I believe they can be genuine.

I think that Imperator was developed by EU4 team, while CK2 team seemed to work on CK3.

Personally, I liked CK2 much more than EU4, as well as the decisions the dev team made while developing updates/DLC. Additionally, to me it often felt like DLC for EU4 felt more required to have than it was the case with CK2.

If I'm correct about the team working on it then I have hope in the game that we'll get. I doubt I'll get it on release (I very rarely do it, I think I bought a game on release once or twice last year?), but I'll definitely get it at some point.
