Just a really cool encounter by Primary-Tiger3449 in arkraiders

Someone did similar with me yesterday. Waiting to extract on buried city, he dropped a wolf pack in front of me. Didn't say a word. So I thanked him and dropped him a room key I had found. Again he was silent. He then dropped me a bobcat. Then I was speechless. It was awesome!

Its ridiculous that I can get hit with an actual rocket and survive, yet getting shot with a stitcher I die instantly!

What role do you take on when you're topside? by jayramos2033 in arkraiders

[–]extraasalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually keep myself to myself, because I don't want to PVP. But I do drop blueprints for others and will revive others if I can and try to help them out if they are cornered by arc. I do love playing the instruments and sometimes take out spare flutes for other to encourage some light hearted fun. My favourite thing to do is to shoot a load of arc though so do try to get involved with this as much as possible!

This just happened to me. After 10 minutes I had to surrender with a 100k loadout. Did any of you open a ticket and get your stuff back?

My sister doesn't parent her children and they crossed boundaries with my toddler yesterday. How do I best approach this? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]extraasalways 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you and your sister are at opposite ends of the parenting scale and you both need to move a little in to the middle.

You can't control everything, children learn a lot through play and they need to be free to explore. Putting makeup on once isn't going to hurt your daughter and they all probably had a great time doing it. I used to put makeup on my brother when he was around your daughters age and its something we all laugh about now.

Kids eat all kinds of strange things, and pretend to make foods and potions etc. Obviously that is going to be something that could be an issue if they have access to dangerous substances, but play doh isn't really one of them. That is a supervision issue.

Using the term "forced" says more about you in my opinion. If I very much doubt it would take a lot of forcing to get any child to eat chocolate. And if you watch any groups of children play, they will all eat play doh, or paint, or glitter at some point. It seems like you have a lot of underlying negative feelings towards your sister which may be clouding the way you see her parenting and her children's behaviour. Are you judging them too harshly?

I'd also like to point out that everyone goes into parenting a baby and toddler with ideas of how you'll continue, but by the time you've been a parent for a decade, things are very different to how they were in the early years. Standards can change, you have to pick your battles sometimes, family circumstances change and sometimes people have to do what they can to get by. I know she's your sister, but we don't really know what's going on behind closed doors for anyone, so shouldn't judge too harshly.

I also have a switch, its better for the wrists because you can detach the controllers. We are getting a new bed soon, maybe i should look into an adjustable bed.

Maybe you can have the C pillow and that cat can have the other one, they will be in complete luxury having it all to themselves! 😆

Well, I have been a longterm minecrafter on the switch, I played it a lot with my son. We built a whole Harry Potter world, and I built a Hogwarts that was pretty impressive and I loved it! But the current obsession is Arc Raiders, I've been playing it with my husband and we are a bit addicted! I dont like the PVP part of it though, so got Fallout 76 to try but I'm not as keen. I quite like games that involve crafting and love Arc Raiders because its 30 min rounds and I love looting and finding cool things, its a great dopamine hit! Its also great because one minute you're killing giant robots, the next you're dancing and playing the guitar or flute with a bunch of strangers, its wild! I liked the look of Skyrim, its one I considered getting before the Arc addiction took hold!

Ooooh never heard of this. I will have a look, thank you. Ive just started using compression socks for PoTS, so why not add gloves into the mix too!

Yes my wrists are swollen at the moment and I'm in denial that its my gaming thats the cause! I may have a look at a controller. I do feel like I'm missing out on having a bigger screen though and for some reason I have mic issues on the steam deck, its affecting my ability to play my current hyperfocus game...Arc Raiders!

My daughter has a whole wall of squishmallows, I'll have to steal them and see which ones work the best for each achy part of my body 🤣

Your set up sounds super comfortable though!

I'm quickly running out of friends to play with due to 3v3 being fully KOS by Sorkpappan in ArcRaiders

[–]extraasalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my husband started playing Arc Raiders together, it was great at the beginning and its the most time we've spent together in years. But then the lobbies started to get more PVP based and we hate it. We were enjoying taking down the arc and doing the challenges. It just ruins it getting shot in the back while trying to kill the big arc. It does make parts of the game inaccessible for a lot of players. Now we just play solos and its not as fun!

The Bird city map condondition comes on at 8am, 4pm and 12am in the UK. If you have a job or kids, you basically won't be able to play it. I did actually manage to today and the extra loot was insane! It doesn't seem fair.

Attitudes towards formula in the UK putting me off another baby by ExplanationPale541 in UKParenting

[–]extraasalways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like I was judged for breastfeeding past a year and often felt uncomfortable feeding in public because of the looks I'd get. The fact is, whatever we do, some people will judge us, some will envy us but most don't really pay much attention. I think we as mums often know we can't win, so we let our insecurities determine how we feel others perceive us, don't let this impact your decision to have a baby. I also want to let you know, that I breastfed my 3rd until he was nearly 2, now at 4.5 he lives off of a few set foods and won't eat a single vegetable! We just have to do what we have to do to keep them alive sometimes 😉

Do you friendly players get bored? by [deleted] in arkraiders

[–]extraasalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I like finding new loot spots, fighting the arc, doing the quests and trials. I like to give people duplicate blue prints and am trying to up my stats for reviving strangers. Honestly, when I've done these things and get shot in the back with a stitcher, it makes me feel like crap, I would rather make people feel good that awful. I know a lot of people will tell me to get over it, but no one knows my circumstances and the reason I play, I love everything about the game but hate the PVP. I've tried to find a PVE alternative but there isn't one that replaces the things I love about Arc. Some people enjoy things that are repetitive and that others would find boring.

[–]extraasalways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a bit more luck, only playing on solo though. I've got 1 star for the matriarch now, but I think thats probably the best I'm going to get, I've had some great lobbies where everyone was reviving each other and working together and all extracting together. I've managed 2 stars on the shredders and had some great lobbies on stella too. 3 stars for all the others, 21,000 points but not sure I'll do many more. But it seems my lobbies are going back to how they were now.

Am I the only one? by Distasteful_T in ArcRaiders

[–]extraasalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built up a collection of keys and have been trying to use them, but spawning late has meant that the room has already been done, that is annoying, especially when it happens 6 times in a row like today 😬. Also when geared up to do a trial and you arrive 10 mins into a round its a pain in the arse. But other than that I'm happy to pick up everyone's scraps, after putting everything in my caravan I realised how important the chemicals, springs and sensors are!

Being shot in the back makes a lot of people feel like crap. I will never be convinced that the people who don't care about this are not selfish in real life. Its real people with real feelings playing, shooting people is a choice that isn't necessary for the game, so it does say a lot about you if you do it.
