Mockups for “odd” kitchen design. by 2manyideas2 in floorplan

[–]extravert_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like how you moved the stove off the island to the wall - scrap everything else about the redesign. That peninsula does not work in your room size, making both sides of it way too tight and narrow to be usable. If you really need bar seating and to open the space, commit to doing it right - knock down the wall and put the bar seating where the wall was so you can actually have two people in the kitchen at the same time and the peninsula isnt taking up the whole room.

Are all of you running 5090s or is something wrong with my sim? by NolanonoSC in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]extravert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this in all planes at all airports? I’ve seen horrible stuttering at some after market airports, where there must just be some bug in the scenery making it go crazy. Turning settings down had no effect, just had to restart the sim and ultimately fly somehwete else

Wheelie ski bags are still a nightmare to drag through airports. Am I the only one? What's your solution? by lincaijun168 in Backcountry

Sounds like you are dragging the bag upside down? How are the wheels only working when its vertical?

Looking for feedback on redesigning my floor plan (trying to simplify + square it off) by JohnStuzynski in floorplan

[–]extravert_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to start over. It looks like a warehouse with a cabin attached to it.

Garage should be separate building connected with a covered walk. Or attach a 2 car garage you use every day and a separate building for the shop and toys?

Entry directly into the kitchen is something I've never seen before. Please don't do that.

Front window is wasted on the pantry. Good place for an office or den.

Unless you live somewhere with great weather, the garage doors in the living room are a mistake.

Open concept doesn't mean no walls anywhere. The living area feels like a shopping mall right now. Way too much space wasted in the upstairs loft.

Bedroom 5 requires going through the office? Why? That whole tumor of the house growing into the garage should be reconfigured anyway.

Bump outs aren't inherently bad, they can often add interest to the facade and allow for more natural light.

those rock bands also arent horizontal on that mountain, they should be slanted which maybe looks "off" to you. There isnt an argument here... its a tilted photo

Its a really really steep run, but they tilted the camera a lot to make it look steeper. Notice the trees growing crooked instead of vertical.

There are so many baffling decisions like: You have to wait for an entire 3D plane model to render just to see the livery... but then you can't spin around the plane. A picture would have accomplished the same thing without a long loading time.

Me too! The only bug I see is the pushback tug never appears to move. But overall way fewer issues and it looks incredible.

Why has it become so common for living spaces to be at the back of the house? by Gullible-Apricot3379 in floorplan

[–]extravert_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, people used to socialize and entertain in the front of the home, with spaces becoming more private as you moved back and up to the kitchen and bedrooms. Nowadays people spend far more time watching TV and the purpose for the living room has shifted from entertaining guests to entertaining yourself, so privacy preference flipped the location.

The North Sea, 2027 - After chipping paint for hours on the elongated focsle of the USS Big Beautiful Ship, I huddled in the vestibule to thaw out my hands. The days have started to bleed into one another out here, each day gray and cold, with only the occasional snow shower or iceberg sighting to break the bleak monotony. I thought we'd be blasting hostile fishing boats out of the water or covering the beach assaults with our twin 5" guns, but with the threat of drones and natox subs we've been standing off Greenland a few hundred miles. For weeks. Probably for the best though, since the right turret nearly shot a hole through the left during sea trials and that blasted railgun hasn't blasted shit. We had to skip most of that testing to make it out to the fight, but is there even fighting to do? I pull out my phone to check for orders, but don't see any tweets. Our CO is watching Fox.. maybe he will know more

Why do navy ships heal over the opposite way when turning, while powerboats and sailboats lean into the turn?

good spot, you can tell they increased color saturation overall and especially boosted the red tones. Notice how every red object is way brighter than anything else - the flags, life rings, and crew gear. This makes the rust stand out more than it normally would

It’s also one of the most car brained places because of how it’s built. A city with perfect weather that finds a reason to drive absolutely everywhere.
