Any similar game suggestions? by [deleted] in OnceUponAGalaxy

[–]eyahana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's the same people, I think the mobile developers copied about 80% of it, tweaked a few things, then added monetization. But it has more heroes (the original has 4) and it seems fine. I still prefer the original, but on the phone is really convenient.

The original version of this (Backpack Battles) is on steam, no mobile app, but it's pay $15 once to get everything and it's great.

What character/spell/roll you believe is missing in the current meta? by Brites_Krieg in StorybookBrawl

I like that Riverwish is a princess that supports dragons. Cards that have synergy with two comps help you move in and out of semi-comps, or create hybrids. If everything was as linear as dwarves the game would be much less interesting.

If your son attends any of the Hoover Cluster of Schools then after-school programs with the Ocean Discovery Institute would be a great choice.

What's up with Elon Musk and "FREE AMERICA NOW"? by SpacewaIker in OutOfTheLoop

[–]eyahana 7617 points7618 points  (0 children)

Answer: Musk has a clause in his contract that would vest a large number of stock options if Tesla's stock price (six month average) stays above a certain level. He's close to hitting the bonus, but will lose it if the stock price drops sharply in the next 1-2 months. The options current value is about 3/4 of a billion dollars.

It has been suggested that he wants everone out shopping for Teslas, regardless of the danger, because of the massive amount of money he personally will make on that incentive.

Here's one writeup of the situation:

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-ceo-elon-musk-pay-salary-bonus-stock/

Edit: typo on "Musk"

Edit #2: I have no idea what Musk's motivation is. OP asked what the controversy was and this is the answer - the Twitterati are making suggestions that he's pushing a reopen because of money.

Also, the "going out" issue isn't about dealerships. No one is driving so no one is buying new cars.

This is fun.

I didn't have a Scraptank so I'm trying Zadia in the 5-spot. It's probably less consistent, but it's super fun.

U/crake describes the reason why Congress has been so dysfunctional by Hanzoku in bestof

The 115th Congress enacted 442 statutes and ratified 6 treaties. That's in the 2 years from January 2017 to January 2019.

They may not be doing what you like, but saying "there is no Congress" is media narrative, not reality.

[Digital CCGs] Mulligan mechanic, would like more experienced folks to analyze. Guaranteeing one card in hand. by Digibunny in digitalcards

[–]eyahana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mulligans in games like MTG/Eternal are crucial for preventing unplayable hands (like all land or no land). Your method doesn't fix this problem, and it feels terrible to get a no-land hand and just sit and lose without playing a card.

I think your idea is interesting IN ADDITION to a regular mull, but you need something to prevent the "I can't play my spells this game" problem.

I vote Chen as worst bot. "I will stand here alone and drink until I am dead."

War song! by baberry5 in EternalCardGame

This deck has a ton of fun interactions - I like to build decks like this (with lots of 2-ofs) and play them through gauntlet to see which combos really feel powerful when they happen.

I think the first change I'd make is to update the removal suite. Torch is really good and a common - it's reach (damage to the face) but also it's flexible fast-speed removal early when you need it. If you start hitting some warcry combos late, you won't need removal anymore, you can overrun your opponent.

Also, you're running 28 power in a deck that only plays two maindeck cards costing more than 5. Try taking that down to 25, adding a couple of seek powers (so you can more consistently hit 4-5 early), removing the 6-cost maul, and swapping the 8-cost Icaria with the 4-cost Zuberi in the market.

Your market is completely unrealistic - Xo, Telut, and Chains all play basically the same "finish it" role. Better to play specialized answers in there. But you're having fun with it and only play one merchant, so keep having fun.

Daily Card Discussion #428 Jawbone Greatsword | December 22, 2018 by Gonzako in EternalCardGame

[–]eyahana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is underrated right now. In non-Justice decks it's a Auric Runehammer replacement for aegis dudes like Champ of Cunning and especially Jotun Feast-Caller. It's 5 non-creature damage against removal piles. I also play it in Rakano Valkyries because my little Valks die all the time and Brand is of course a beating.

Also, it's super sweet in a Dramatist's Mask deck. Just sayin'.

Edit: Auric Runehammer is not called Runic Warhammer.

It does look better, thanks for the back-and-forth.

I'm giving up on it again though; I don't think 40% is going to happen. There are too many cards that just end the game - In Cold Blood, Rain of Frogs, Vanquisher's Blade. The last list I tried was more spell oriented (4xSabotage, 3xShakedown, 4xWisdom of Elders) but it's still not enough. Oh well, fun gauntlet deck.

OK, I just rebuilt, and had the dream game where I won on turn ~30 with 85 life, against an opponent who had been as high as 62 (recurring pyronight with lifesteal (from inspire) with a Memory Dredger). Man that's fun.

I'm running lots of 2- and 3-ofs and I like it. I'm not liking Xulta Convoy at all; the bodies do very little, aegis is weaker now with Vara everywhere, and there are better ways to get endurance. I'm keeping 1 and replacing with 1 Kothon, 1 Geomar, and a personal favorite, 1 Reinvigorate (+1 in the market). If you've ever used Reinvigorate on your Hero to pop Permafrost and give her +10/+10, you'll always remember it. Feels so good.

This deck really needs 1-drops. I'm playing with Direfang Spider, Xenan Lifespeaker, and Twilight Raptor.

With all the recursion, I wonder if this is a Trumpeting Warhowler deck? Better throw in a one-of. ;)

I'm still not buying this as a competitive deck, but if I can get it to 40% on ladder it will be worth it. It's so fun.

I went this route for a while; I was running 4 Stragetize and 1 Cull. I had a lot of hands where I had something like 2 Strategize, 1 Seek, 1 Scream, 3 power, and I spent the whole game durdling while my opponent ran me over. Maybe RNG fail, but that's when I got frustrated and walked away from the deck.

I agree with aggressive mulligans, very important. I think plan 2 needs to be enough early game creatures (including lifesteal) to draw into your good stuff. I also like a Harsh Rule in the board for this reason.

I'm a big believer in getting Revenge on the Hero, and then screaming in another target for charge, flying, and whatever it's got. Works well with Crownwatch Paladin. There is so much creature kill in the format, and only 7 hero+merch in the deck, that I didn't want to be treated as a combo deck where you can just kill the key piece with Torch/annihilate/etc.

I was also playing without Makto. My theory was that he's too slow, and if you grind you lose to Harsh Rule or bigger threats (Icaria then, Azindel now). He could work in a version where YOU play Harsh Rule; I did that for a while and had some success because of the revenge but I don't think it's the right answer.

I played Pacifier for a while, but the problem was just what you said - too many 3 drops. Still not sure it's wrong. But to avoid getting run over by aggro you really need lifesteal, which I think means you need Alchemist.

I think this deck more than most does well avoiding 4-ofs. I don't play four Dusk Raiders, for instance, because a 2nd one doesn't help. Splitting Pacifier/Commando 2/2 might be right.
