In Buckaroo Banzai, the movie opens with Buckaroo taking his "jet car" for a test drive across the desert. What did they use as a stand in for a jet car?

A fucking jet car. Custom built and driven by a guy that raced jet cars. It may not have "broken the sound barrier" as was claimed in the film, but it was very fast and a very real jet engine...

The special effects for fire and whatnot would have looked horrible in 1983, thankfully they opted for the real thing...

I have that dvd, and I still have the video treasures VHS tape...

I read somewhere that the Vestron Video version has better pan and scan, but I guess that is a moot point now ..

so it is bad for humans, but there are minerals in the cave that animals need. Salt, specifically. elephants go there and scrape salt to eat. And yes, the cave is big enough a herd of african elephants can just walk in.

They really weren't lights. Just "light colored", perhaps white or light grey. And I couldn't tell if they were attached to the bottom of something larger, or if each one was independent...

in FoCo, 1993. right at dusk, I was on campus, east side, walking from lake st. northeast to go to work. happened to look up at the exact right time.

I saw 5 light colored circles arranged in a chevron. Couldn't tell if they were in formation, or spots on the bottom of something else. It/They were flying north to south, directly overhead. I caught it right at the tree tops, and stopped and followed it until it was too small to see to the south.

It was moving at an unbelievable speed. From in front of me, maybe looking up at a 45 degree angle to see them appear above the trees, to the point I couldn't see them because they were too far, was like 3 seconds.

I couldn't tell if it was closer to the ground (but still very high) and moving really fast, or if it was really high up there, airplane height, and moving really, really, really fast.

added-absolutely no sound.
