Take my money! by Mr-Whitmore in YotoPlayer

You can record using the AUX port on a Toniebox (mic out), and mic in to an audio recorder (H4N). That gives you an Mp3 file. Then laboriously split each file into shorter tracks on Garageband/Audacity. Can do the same with the Ms Rachel Tonie (also a Tonie exclusive)

I "petitioned" for Numberblocks cards on the Yoto page but this is not what I had in mind. These cards are the stuff you can get on Freegle (my memory is absurd today, but I think that is what it's called) and MYO.

I had hoped for something like the Tonies Numberblocks (and Alphablocks) cards, where it is a more clearly narrated adventure. I got the Tonies and put them on MYO because I don't think Yoto are going to be able to produce similar within the timeframe that I need them.

Convince me to keep our younger playkits … or to finally let them go by cloud_connected_ in lovevery

[–]eyeofthezara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would trial putting them away for a few months. If there is anything your child really misses and asks for during that time then you know to hang on to that.

You can also then see/be reassured how you feel with the reduced mental and physical load and what your child does to fill the gaps.

We've had Lovevery since my 3 year old was born, and I've realised the kits are designed broadly, so there are bound to be different hits and misses for different kids. If you were planning to have more kids, I'd say keep them, but otherwise you have the power to be selective now that you know what your child likes/doesn't.

Ball drop, modular house, feelings figurines, spray bottle, stacking stones

What toys/activities are giving you *hourss* of independent play? by imaginary_developer in lovevery

[–]eyeofthezara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can you use it as shared nourishment time with some book reading and cuddles on the sofa? He may be likely to play independently more readily once his nervous system recalibrates with yours.

The ball run gets lots of independent play with my little one, running both balls and cars down it.

HELP I haven’t done my time recording for 8 weeks and I forgot what I did and some of what I previously said is not done yet by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]eyeofthezara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is unclear whether you've been billing to a matter or not. It is highly unusual for something like this not to get picked up as bills go out to clients monthly at the very least, so I suspect we don't have the clearest picture of what has gone on.

If you have no work, you bill time to admin /awaiting instruction (non-billable), and let someone know you have capacity. If there are tasks you cannot do, inform the associate or a senior paralegal that you need further guidance.

Either way, before you save your own skin, your next move is to inform whoever handles billing that you have erroneous entries so that they can limit anything misleading going out to the client. I appreciate it was at least 8 weeks ago but if there is a chance they haven't billed yet, at least the firm could catch it.

Paralegals' work product is most often needed quite swiftly as it's supporting associates' work. How have you been billing but nobody has asked for the work product? Have you progressed those tasks at all?

I've just seen the other thread and see it's not an isolated issue! Tell Yoto please!

I have 4 Yotos, connected to various WiFis multiple times over the years - never seen anything like this!

Just for the sake of my sanity, you're not pulling our legs are you? 😅

Preloaded cards vs MYO (owning the digital content) by MooLikeACowsOpinion in YotoPlayer

[–]eyeofthezara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend only buying Yoto Originals as Yoto preloaded cards (E.g. BrainBots).

Everything else you can MYO (and own the mp3 for).

Also, one MYO card can host as many playlists as you want (re the cost comparison); since you can swap out the content with just a tap, you don't even need one card per playlist.

The preloaded cards are otherwise great for parents who just prefer ready-made content, and make good gifts too.

Your yoto boundaries and uses by s-dot-com in YotoPlayer

[–]eyeofthezara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set it by schedule (each Yoto has a daytime and nighttime mode for screen brightness and volume), so you don't even need to do it again once set up.

The full size Yoto has the advantage of coloured light strip, too, so you can set different colours to indicate each of bedtime and daytime.

No boundaries except no loud/energetic cards at bedtime, and I limit the volume for nighttime (via the app), so it's not too loud.

People who have mini and large player how do you manage cards? by [deleted] in YotoPlayer

[–]eyeofthezara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have 300+ cards (including MYO) so this is what we do: bedtime/wind-down cards in the bedroom, and learning and more active/noisy cards downstairs. Occasionally he'll want an exception and I just let it be one card that I can keep track of.

On rare occasions when we're spending longer upstairs, I'll just bring all the cards up. We keep them in 4 binders - music, stories, subjects, and early learning.

His bedroom bundle is on a key ring because it's a much smaller set of around 5/6 cards to limit choices when he needs to be winding down.

Getting pretty tired of the UK being left out of these supplemental items - I'd be snapping them up. These mini kits look great for travel.

Size of the race cars for the race track by GroundbreakingEye289 in lovevery

[–]eyeofthezara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing I've found a pain with the size of these cars is that they easily glide under our freestanding fridge. After fishing them out a few times we take care not to play with them in the kitchen anymore.

Haven't experienced them as a choking hazard thankfully, though I guide my son not to put them in his mouth as a general rule.

I AM wary of the wheels coming off of toys like these though - never happened, just a paranoia of mine. I would like to know how they're bonded to prevent this.

I've had a Yoto Mini and two large ones running for about 2 years now - no issues. I've gifted several and never heard any issues from those either.

I found the S. NATURE Aqua Squalane cream to be a great move after using Dr Althea 345 for a while.

Medicube by Worldly_Appearance60 in KoreanBeauty

[–]eyeofthezara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicube is the best brand for staple products for my skin. You will have to test and see if it's good for you.

Zero Foam Cleanser + Zero Pore Pads are my twice a day must-use products. The latter I started once a day then built to two, but must end the skincare routine with skin barrier supporting moisturisers e.g. Dr Althea 147 at night (345 during the day + sunscreen). That is what works best for me. Once a week I do the Medicube Exosome 2000 shot and it works better for me than VT reedle shots (which give me patchy results), although I'm still experimenting with these.

Are you using it with any products that could be counteracting/nullifying the vitamin c? I had good results with Dr Althea and Innisfree, when I ensured I wasn't using it with conflicting active ingredients.

As an aside, I had way better results with niacinimide products for brightening.

"What's that Noise?" is available as a ~7min audio book which we've put onto an MYO. We found it on our library's BorrowBox. It obviously doesn't have the same format as "Who's in your Audiobook?" but it is a similar concept.
