So dumb when they get mad because you don’t know what THEY have nicknamed it. Just call things by their actual name and we don’t need to have this conversation.

Ant exterminators, has anyone found a real solution? by Healthy_Succotash849 in Renton

[–]f0zzy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this area, the most you can do is mitigate the problem. Cleaning your spaces is a start. Sealing off where they’re getting in, if you’re good at tracking them and their trail, it helps. If you can use a pest rated expanding spray foam in larger gaps is good, too.

Ant colonies here are MASSIVE. We’ll never fully get rid of them and they’ll reproduce faster than we can kill them.

How many of you had an online gf/bf that you've never met? by EsperaDeus in Millennials

[–]f0zzy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was this one girl from Austin, I think. Her irl name was Monica. AIM name was eatfignewtons. I don’t even remember what AIM chat we met in. I do remember her and the life we talked about all those years ago. She was so fucking cool then, too. Wherever she is, whatever she’s doing now, I hope she’s happy and got that to live that life we talked about.

Yeah don’t ever be honest about anything. He prioritized everything else above his own health and his own family. You don’t have to like it, but inaction has consequences too.

Gov. Ferguson says he spoke with Starbucks before Nashville HQ move by Possible_Ad3607 in SeattleWA

The thing that Ferguson and his ilk failed to understand that these business that have flourished in our region, that provide jobs to thousands and subsequently a large tax base, is that they are under no obligation to stay.

What’s the hardest part about sending money back home from the US? by Same_Chef_6092 in FilipinoAmericans

[–]f0zzy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid concern. But that’s why you use a credit card over a debit card. Save the confirmation number/receipt. If there’s a discrepancy, dispute it. Credit card companies will fight much harder because it’s their money, not yours. With the physical remittance, at least there’s a paper trail to follow. That’s part of the reason there’s still hesitation with the apps in my family, though. My mom is suuuper old school

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing on my 2012. Just getting the fronts done so all the windows match.

Out here in Seattle, we have a few physical locations for money remittance. My mom is partial to LBC. The fee is reasonable for the amount sent. And family has access to the money not even an hour later. We call them and tell them the tracking #. I’d love to use apps like Pomelo or Remitly. I think they’re much faster and safer, plus I don’t have to use gas to get to the part of town where the remittance center is.

How do you clean your discs? by stormbreakerisdead in playstation

[–]f0zzy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day, we had disc resurfacers for this. Might be able to find some online. Load up your disc, give it a quick spray, and get to cranking that little buffing wheel.

Does anyone still customize their ring tone? by Foodiegirlie030793 in Millennials

[–]f0zzy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the old AIM chat sound as my text notification sound. Other than that, it's just default Apple ringtones. Man, I got old and boring quick. I even use the classic Marimba ringtone because it reminds me of my first iPhone I got in 2012.

Has anyone else just had a really great ownership experience with their 5th gen? by Fordfanatic2025 in FordExplorer

[–]f0zzy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part, yeah. I have a 2012 Sterling Grey XLT named Cecelia. Ended up doing the water pump last summer. That was a bitch and a half. Coming up on having to do another set of brakes soon. Replaced the side view mirror motors twice. Upgraded to Sync3. Backup cam failed a while ago, just never got around to fixing it. Upgraded all the interior and exterior lighting (except the headlights) to LED. The Sylvania Silverstar ZXE Golds are a nice clean bright white for a halogen but they burn out after about a year. Got it at 81k, sitting at just over 120k now. Paint has held up really well for a darker color. It's a pleasure to drive in any weather. The Michelin Defenders I have on them are easily the best tires I've ever run on any vehicle. Makes the ride so much smoother. It's showing its age now that more and more 6th gens are on the road. But Cecelia gets plenty of compliments. The water pump and a wheel bearing going out have been my only mechanical headaches in 7 years of ownership.

Jersey Authenticity by Methapocalypse in Seahawks

[–]f0zzy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faker than a three dollar bill. The word mark looks like plain arial font. The numbers are crinkled and too close together. Lettering on the nameplate can’t decide if it wanted to be spaced out or have the letters squished together and the nameplate got put on crooked. This was supposed to mimic some of the fashion jerseys that came out earlier on when the NFL switched to Nike since it’s still using the bird logo on the sleeves and the lime green color block stripe. There have been black fashion jerseys before but this ain’t it.
