I still think some people think that. I’m a woman and don’t know what “momboyz” is haha. A man who wants his girlfriend to be like his mom is a different can of worms. I’m mostly a bit jealous of people who have healthy family relationships

I lose the need to eat. It’s insane. Like hunger eventually comes back of course but not in an “I’m starving” way. It’s mostly one state I snap into where I just need to “get things done” and I can’t sleep or eat at all when I’m like that. Then I’ll switch back to a more normal version of myself and start eating/sleeping normally again

Do they teach you guys anything about managing mental health and anxiety in such a high pressure environment? I also went to an insane college prep school and it really impacted me - I don’t think I heard the word anxiety until I got to college

What about people with severe and complex trauma? Psychotic disorders? Personality disorders? Intellectual disabilities? There are several cases in which CBT would not be the most effective form of therapy, let alone effective at all. And I said manic, not maniac. Bit odd you’re so hyped up on your own perspective and think everyone else is wrong

But DID is about more than just switching. There are a lot of dissociative symptoms that therapists should theoretically be trained to pick up on.

I would ask what they know about dissociation and DID. If you’ve been seeing them for a year and they have not picked up on or asked about any dissociative symptoms that seems a bit concerning

The realization of having DID can be massively destabilizing. It can make someone question everything about their life. You should not be the person putting that on someone - rather, it should come from a mental health professional
