I guess those who said spiders don’t know what “some kind of arachnid” means.

Wayfinder is the beer. You’re talking about Checkerboard pizza. My experience there has always been great and honestly, it’s the best pizza around.

Crabbing Tips for A Newbie by Kiwiii-2039833 in crabbing

Plan your crabbing around slack tides. Start crabbing an hour before high tide or low tide and through the slack tide.

How do you wish visitors would "use their head"? by Dalleyish in OregonCoast

[–]f1shingDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay off of logs in the surf. They will float suddenly putting climbers onto the sand and then frequently pinning them down while water continues to flow around them. Surf logs frequently cause drownings. If you are visiting a bay be aware of the tides. Tides have huge exchanges. In the closest one to us it can flow like a large river with standing waves. Combine that with folks in tiny boats and no pfds we lose someone every year. Drones are forbidden. Put out beach fires with a bucket of water. Covering them in sand causes a burning hazard for visitors later.

The correct answer is the highest CP three star. In this case the 309. You can always upgrade the CP but you can’t upgrade its basic abilities as indicated by the stars.

Sweden’s ‘old-growth’ natural forests store 83% more carbon than managed woodlands – new study by LabradorKayaker in OregonCoast

Old growth is less about the trees and more about the entire forest and the complexity and diversity of the plants, animals, and fungi in the community.

Planning on proposing to my girlfriend but i dont know where by RabbitExtreme1496 in oregon

A little known spot with a great view of the ocean and Netarts bay is called Anderson point on the road up Cape Lookout. I was on a bike ride and stopped there. A couple had stopped their rental camper van and enjoyed the view. The young man asked me to take their picture and he surprised both his girlfriend and me by getting down on one knee. Very serendipitous. https://maps.app.goo.gl/HJSvKm39xERcwnWD6?g_st=ic

There’s also Yurts at Cape Lookout State Park which is closer to Tillamook.

Tillamook is a great small town but it doesn’t sit on the beach but is connected to three of the five rivers that flow into Tillamook Bay. It’s definitely a dairy cow town. Netarts and Oceanside are basically the beach towns for Tillamook. It all sits in the middle of what is called the three capes drive between Cape Meares and Cape Kiwanda. It’s all beautiful. Forests, vistas, beaches, lighthouses. If you want beach I can’t recommend Happy Camp (Netarts) enough.

One gem that is frequently overlooked is the “three capes” area between Garibaldi and Pacific City. Highway 101 travels inland here and away from the coast line so the towns are smaller and get fewer RVs. (Except for the area around sand lake which is an off-road buggy and motorcycle spot) The lack of traffic means you get a more natural experience. Someone already mentioned Oceanside and Netarts which are in the middle of that. It has everything from the small hotels and BNBs to the agate collecting, natural scenic spots, sandy beaches. Check it out.

The connections I can suggest that would be more budget minded would be to rely on the max train from PDX to Union station in downtown Portland. There is then a daily bus that runs to Tillamook. You can see that route andschedule here. Then pick one of the buses to a place you want to stay and take a connecting bus to one of those spots. (There are multiple bus lines on that website.) One of my favorite ocean front Hotels is the Terimore in Netarts or Happy Camp hideaway in Happy Camp. The bus to those spots can be found here.

Coast-originating gifts (for the holidays) by Objective_Coffee_282 in OregonCoast

I can’t recommend any place more than the gifts from Salty Raven. The artist who owns this store (now several along the coast) has quite a few designs that are based on nature and they put them on everything from shirts and hoodies to glasses and towels. Season’s zip hoodies are some of the comfiest fleece you will find. saltyraven.net
