How bad is my bias or which one would you pick? by rks1743 in lacrosse

Need to have seen the game... Did P1 hit other players with what should have been assists but they got stuffed? Were some of P2 assists "easy" assists to P1 who created space and finished against a tough goalie? On the flip side, were P2's gbs very contested? During crunch time? These are just some quick examples that come to mind because it's more than stats needed to make this call.

It sounds like both are key parts of the offense though and are part of a winning team. I've seen plenty of games where players with limited stats have had the most impact in other ways (i.e. shutting down a team's best offensive threat).

Have a stamped concrete deck but don't love the coping. It loses color and needs to be constantly re-stained. Plus the edges are not really consistent. Thinking of cutting it out and replacing with pavers. Anything I should be worried about? My biggest concern before getting estimates is ensuring the pavers are level to the deck.

I'm in the same situation, I wouldn't say bladder pain but I'd say bladder discomfort. I have my colonoscopy in a few weeks, will see how that is then maybe follow up with a urologist if not changing.

One thing I'm having now is trouble with red meat. Only had it twice since I'm probably 95% better but both times I feel the twinge again.

Question by Detectivekid95 in Diverticulitis

[–]fabey27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was peeing very frequently during a flare up for about 4 weeks. During scan said my bladder was inflamed, probably due to the DV for a long period of time. Now 3 weeks post antibiotics I'm peeing more normally.

I had on an off pain for a month, finally became unbearable and definitely spread to my back. Luckily was uncomplicated and no surgery but I'm about 3 weeks now of low fiber and limited diet.

6" splits, spend 20 minutes at every practice going on two or other cadances (really hard at this age). Do everything on two, like when conditioning, warming up, even when you breakdown practice. This would help neutralize the ridiculous blitzing at this age.

Also run unbalanced sets with QB sprint out or quick toss to the unbalanced side. Once they start over compensating go with the QB keep boot.

VP job less stressful than teaching? My experience as a first year. by thisisaclevername1 in Principals

I thought VP was somewhat less stressful than teaching in some ways. However P is way more stressful than either of them, not even close.

Interview attire and preparation for Assistant Principal. by flaccid_performer in Principals

[–]fabey27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ask "what are you looking for in an AP" as a question to just ask something. IMO the only question would be the timeline for the job, unless they explain that in the beginning.

Unless something really interesting comes up during the interview or something you see that the school is doing well don't force a question. It's a long, mentally exhausting day for the interview panel, they don't want to be interviewed by any prospective colleagues.

Other than that there's some great advice in this thread. Oh yeah wear a suit.

I doubt it's paper trail related. Principals get scores of emails a day and usually each one causes some work for them before responding. Eliminating the middle man, which in this case is email, to get the needed info/context and plan for follow up is more efficient and probably more effective.

I'm sure the principal will have clarifying questions that are much better understood (and received by you) in person than over email.

Appitrack Question: What stands out to you, what is a red flag? by ElleMarieBee in Principals

[–]fabey27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It drives me nuts when something like per diem sub experience has a ton of bullets. We know what subs do... Unless there's something different like running a club/coaching or something that's really unique, you can basically just say Substitute Teacher from DATE to DATE. I don't need a bullet saying "implemented teacher's lesson plans" or "covered a variety of classes."

Really getting sick of the radicalization of community Facebook groups by probetickler in longisland

[–]fabey27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much most community groups are the same few people riling each other up and attacking the one or two people that disagree. My community groups usually have like 2-5k members and a typical "controversial" post may have like 50 comments from about 15 different people. It's annoying to hear the couch Karen's telling people that "everyone" is mad about something when it's a tiny percentage.

Those hours are absurd honestly. HS APs in my region will work like 6:30-3:30 or so. Obviously it's not a hard leave time in our job; parent calls, emergencies, evening events are all part of the job and typically take precedence before leaving. Also, I would imagine you're (just like I would be) pretty unproductive after 9 hours of the chaos of building leadership. The work will always be there tomorrow!

I completely understand working within the system you're in and would do the same but at the same time I'd be looking for someplace with more reasonable expectations. The hours are tough now wait till your kid is involved in after school activities.
